Okay, then your next step is to get in touch with your mother's sisters and other relatives for more information and order you mom's death certificate. I assume she is deceased. Try to get as much info as possible as soon as you can from living relatives - time is always of the essence before the living die. Next, find your family in the 1930 census, and go from there. I am sure we connect, but you will need to get back to the late 1700s and eearly 1800s. If you google your grandparent's names or great grandparent's names you may find something this way. Also, do a search on familysearch.com for marriage records, etc.
