Abraham - Dashiell Wedding

For some time past matrimonial events have been very dull in the city, but an event of this character occurred last Wednesday evening, heralded by the distribution of several hundred announcements as follows: "Dr. and Mrs. Dashiell request the pleasure of your presence at the marriage of their daughter, Nannie to William Abraham, Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock, Church of Good Shepherd, Terrell, Texas." When the auspicious hour arrived a large number of admiring friends and well wisher assembled at the Episcopal Church at intent upon witnessing the happy event, and eagerly anticipating the arrival of the couple who were to figure as parties to the connubial contract. Precisely at the appointed hour, the bridal party arrived, announced by the sweet, solemn soul-stirring harmonies of the wedding march beautifully rendered by Mrs. J. F. Gilmore. The party entered the church as follows: First came the ushers, Messers. C. W. Childress, H. Jones, Matthew Roberts and H. P. Ruddell; then the bridesmaids, Misses alice Terrell and Mary Dashiell. These were closely followed by Mr. Allie Dashiell, best man, and Mr. Abraham, the groom, , Mrs. W. B. Dashiell and the bride, Miss Nannie Dashiell. Rev. O. A. Taylor, perfomed the beautiful Episcopal ceremony, which was short, pleasing and impressive. The bride was tastefully attired in a gray woolen traveling dress, shoes, hat and gloves to match and never appeared so sweet and attractive. The groom faced the occasion nobly, exhibiting a modest business like pride in his victory. Two sweetest bridesmaids we ever saw stood on either side of the couple attired in white mull dresses, trimmed with white ribbons. Immediately after the ceremony the bridal party departed for the depot, where they received the congratulations and good wishes of a host of friends. A beautiful bouquet from New York City and many telegrams were also handed them. They were the happy recipients of a number of valuable and handsome presents from friends at home and abroad. Amid a shower of rice, old shoes, etc. the happy couple boarded the evening train for Galveston, where they will spend the honeymoon.

The Times-Star joins many admiring friends in wishing for them success through life's pathway.
