I have come up gainst a brick wall searching for Benjamin Abrahams - my g g g grandfather. He was a looking glass frame maker and married Rachel (formerly Phillips) In 1848 the family lived at Gravel Lane in Aldgate, London.

Looking for descendents of the Abrahams family that started out in Lncashire County, England and came to the US and settled in Brooklyn, NY and Jersey City, NJ. My great grandfather changed his name to Braham a few years after coming in the US. I know of atleast 1 brother that came here to live and that was Samuel who was married to Edith and had atleast 2 children. My great grandfather married Mary (Dougherty) and mostly lived in Jersey City where they died in the 1960's. Any information on Samuel and Edith either Abrahams or Braham. They lived in Brooklyn. Their daughters' names were/are Laura and Lydia.

John Abrahams and his wife Elizabeth Abrahams Nee Damon, had a Daughter Charlotte E E Abrahams B in the year 1874. She Married a Charles William Murdock in England, they had 5 children there and then migrated to Australia. Charlotte E E Abrahams and Charles William Murdock had a 6th child in Queensland Australia. Charlotte E E Abrahams suffered post natal depression after the 6th child and Charles William Murdock had her committed to a mental hospital in Queensland Australia. All 6 children where fostered out into different family's around Queensland including my Grandmother Nellie Cripps NEE Murdock. Charles William Murdock then disappeared. I would like any information on where and what he did, and who raised my grandmother.

I am a descendant of Fanny Abrahams born Buckinghamshire, UK around 1785, had an unknown son but then lived with two granddaughters Fanny & Susannah, they were straw plaiters in Totternhoe, Bedfordshire in 1851

Fanny went on to marry Charles Murrell in London and had children Thomas, Charles, Ellen, Harry & Frederick.

Seeking info on the Descendants of Isaac Abraham born apprx. 1810, Ireland. Emigrated to NYC about 1835. Isaac married Catharine (?) about 1840. 4 daughters, Mary born about 1844, Catherine born about 1846, Grace E. "Lizzie" born about 1850 and Margaret who was born about 1853.

The family lived in the lower east side of Manhattan. I have lost track of the daughters after 1880. They may have married.

Isaac died prior to 1870 & Catharine prior to 1880.

I have seen the name spelled Abraham, Abrahams, Abrams & Abram on official documents. My ancestor is Catharine (1846).

Does anyone know anything about Mary, Grace or Margaret Abraham ???

Anyone in their research come across Benjamin Abrahams born c1798?. Benjamin married Jane Radford in 1821, Bedminster, Somerset, England. He died in 1835. Benjamin could be from local counties to Bristol or he could possibly have been an immigrant. I've hit a brick wall.

looking for information on Joseph Abrahams who immigrated to New York from Lithuania with his brother Samuel in the 1880's.. Sister Ida immigrated alone after them. They lived on the Lower East Side of NYC.Ida married Isaac Levine, Samuel married a Jennie and had two children, Charlotte and Mervin. Also looking for Ralph and Bebe Abramson, cousins of my grandfather, Sidney Levine. They are children of Charles and Edith Abramson. We think somewhere the name was changed from abrahams to abramson. Or Ralph and Bebe's mother was an Abrahams. We have information on Samuel and Ida, but nothing regarding what happened to Joseph. Most of the family remained in New York at least until the 1940's. Any information is welcome!

Anna Elizabeth Abrahams was my Great, Great Grandmother. She married Gerd Frerichs in 1806, in Etzel, Ostfriesland, Germany. I do not know if she was born in Etzel or some other location in Ostfriesland. I do not know a date of birth, parents, siblings and if they Gerd and Anna had any other children then Frerichs Frerichs (named after his Grandfather) and Abraham Frerichs (named after his Grandfather on his mother's side). Abraham and Frerich Frerichs immigrated to America. Abraham came in through New Orleans on August 16, 1857, Frerich Frerichs came in through Galveston, Texas. Abraham Frerichs is my Great Grandfather. I would certainly be most grateful if there are any Abrahams that may be related to Anna Elizabeth to drop me an email. It would be great to compare notes and information. I have exactly nothing that I have been able to verify on Anna's parents or family.

Can anyone help me find information on DAVID ABRAHAMS of Portsea Island? This is what I know:

He was born bet 1795-1797 (though not sure whether in Liverpool or Portsmouth); he had a wife named Elizabeth who died prior to 1851; On the 1851 census he is listed as follows:

Abrahams, David - 3 Cottage Street, Portsea - 54 yrs - fishmonger on relief

Children listed at that time:

Abram (born in Liverpool) - 1830
Isaac (born in Portsea) - 1843
Jacob (born in Portsea) - 1847

Two other children were shown as having been born to David and Elizabeth Abrahams through private research:

Sarah Abrahams (married Joseph Yoell) b. 1836 Portsea
and
Maria Abrahams (born in Liverpool) b. 1831

As Joseph Yoell was Jewish and a member of the synagogue in Portsmouth, I have checked through their records, but have been unable to find the family history of David Abrahams...there is speculation that he is the son of Isaac Abraham of Portsmouth, who had a son born in 1797, but this has not been proven.

If you are researching this family or know of any information that would help me find this lineage, I would be extremely appreciative!

Hello! I'm researching William George Symons Abrahams who married Ann Stephens Clift on 10 Mar 1844 at St. Margaret's, Westminster, Middlesex, England. William G. Abrahams was the son of Gabriel & Jane Lovely Symons Abrahams, of Falmouth, Cornwall, England. Does anyone recognize this Abrahams family? I've not been able to find William & Ann on any subsequent censuses. Would anyone be able to look them up on the 1851 census, Middlesex? I'm hoping to find a connection. Thanks.

My Abram ancestors come from the South of England and I would be very keen to hear from anyone else with ancestors from this part of the country. Mostly the Abram family seem to come from up North, Southport and Wigan which strangely is the area my family live in now.

My father was born in Northamptonshire and his father Louis Bowers Abram was born in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk (1916). Joseph Charles Abram was my great grandfather and he was born in Northampton and Charles Abram my great great grandfather was born in Rothwell, Northamptonshire. My great great grandfather was Joseph Abram but I have no details abour him at present.

The family mostly resided in the Seabrook area, although they could have come from someplace else. Looking for information regarding the parents of Henry ABRAHAMS, b: 1720 Wales. Does ANYONE know who his parents are? I have old documentation that suggests widow Sarah ABRAHAMS may be the mother, BUT, she is listed with 3 sons, none of which are Henry. Henry was born in Wales, settled in Staunton VA before making it to Lower Turkeyfoot.

Is there anyone looking for a Levy or Levi Abrahams d. 1829 He lived in Charleston, SC or maybe just worked there. He had a son James b.1804 by his first wife and Alexander,Rosanna, and Charles by a second as far as we can tell. The last 3 names changed to Abrams. I am not sure about James. There may also be a Samuel b.abt 1810. Would love to get in touch with some more family that knows the history and can help us. Thank you, Dianne

I am a descendant of an Abrahams - there is some doubt about his first name; could be Harold - who was the spiritual leader of the 'Old Hebrew Congrgation' in Manchester in the early 1820's. I believe he died in 1839.

He had a son who went to the West Indies and ran his father's operations out of Kingston. Over the last half century most of the family ended up in Canada; except for one uncle of mine who I believed lived in the UK.

One of his descendants I believe to be Harold Abrams the Olympic Gold Medalist, whose story was made famous in the movie 'Chariots of Fire'.

I'm looking for anyone who might know of Bernard Abrahams..pronounced Abrams. Probably born 1889 his first wife was Sadie Kosminski who became Kathleen Kay. They divorced late 1920s/early 1930s.
We're curious about his family after the divorce.

(Don't know correct spelling of first name). Came to USA from Germany during the civil war there. History books put the civil war during the mid 1840's. M. had an older brother here, and came to be with him(?). After WWI he was in NYC and had a family of grown children.
Want to find out when he came to US. Where he was born, and when. How many siblings? Where they were, in US or Germany. Any family left in Germany? Birth dates of siblings. Parents' names, and date information.
