I am also researching Abraham who came from Ireland.
I have managed to go back to 1840's.

My GGGrandfather was also James Abraham b abt 1846 in Co Leitrem Ireland, that's what it states on the 1871 census fro England. He married Cathrine Burk(e)also born in Ireland abt 1848. they left Ireland and moved to Huddersfield England. I have now hit a brick wall and cannot find any futher info on James Parents or his birth details. Could we be related??

It is becoming extremely difficult now due to the different spellings of Abraham--- I am checking Abraham, Abrahams, Abram, Abrams and Hebron, apparently the last spelling Hebron is another possibility.

Get in touch if any of my info rings any bells.

Louise
