Thanks so much for posting. It's nice to know that someone else is related to this family and looking. I descend down from his daughter Jane who married William J. Taylor. I have a photo of Jane and a photo that we believe to be her father John by what was written on the back. Early on when I first started looking into this family I was in touch with a girl who's family decends from John's brother Jonathon. She also believes that the family was from the Long Island area. She couldn't pinpoint the exact location either. But, we found that her Abrams later occupied the same lot and concession as my John Abrams, only at a later date. So in other words the land stayed in the same family for awhile. Her grandmother was born in the same house as my John was located. I really need to get out my research on this family and work some more on it. I put it away for awhile because I just couldn't seem to get any further with it. Most of the information I have I had to pay a genealogist in Canada to get. It's hard to work with Canadian records living in Florida. Anyway, it seems we have matching information. If there is anything we could share I would love to do that. What child of John and Catherine's do you come down from? I would love to have that information.
