I'm researching the same family. The parents of John Jr that you are looking for are John Abrams (born abt. 1800) and Catherine Harpell(born abt. 1806). However, I've also seen Catherine's maiden name listed as Harper. Her parents are George Harpell/Harper and Margaret Starker. My line descends from John Jr's sister Jane Abrams. I've been looking at the death records for the Abrams in Ontario and it seems that our John and Catherine have only listed USA as place of birth, however, the other Abrams that carry the same names, such as Josiah listed his birth as Long Island, New York. So this is the area I am searching for John Sr's birth as I believe he named his son Josiah after the brother Josiah.
