I found the Arden Abrams family on the LDS website at: http://www.familysearch.org. Just search for Arden Abrams and the first one that comes up is an IGI file(International Genealogical Index). Click on family after the file opens. I don't know who submitted the file.
William Abrams who died in Matamoras, Mexico probably died in the Mexican-American War. The Mexican-American War was an armed military conflict between the United States and Mexico from 1846 to 1848.
If that person that matched your DNA had the same surname as you then it would mean that he was a fairly close relative. If he had a different surname then it only means that you and he had a common ancestor about 1000 years ago.
