We do have a nice Abrams DNA project with at least 58 members with about 30 lineages represented and 9 major groups. Abrams, Abram, and Abraham are the most common spellings.
http://www.familytreedna.com/public/abrams/default.aspx?sect...For several years we were growing at about 25% a year. For the last couple of years, it has slowed down to about 10%.
We do have several representatives from the Abrams from Turkeyfoot (PA), Newberry (SC), New Amsterdam (NY), Rockland Co (NY), Abrams/Skidmore (KY), Laurens Co (SC). More are always welcome. English, Dutch, Irish, Welsh as well as smaller groups with the Cohen signature, Poland, Germany, Belgium, Estonia, Russia.
Lets make 2012 a big year. Sign up for Y DNA testing!!!
You can sign up with Family Tree DNA, Ancestry.com or Sorenson (Free). The 58 members are with FamilyTreeDNA.
FamilyTreeDNA is having a December sale. Orders must be entered by Dec 31. The swab test can be done when you are ready. It doesnt have to be you!! Ladies!! Got any brothers or uncles or cousins named Abrams?? Get them on board. Or buy this test as a Christmas present instead of a tie.
http://www.familytreedna.com/group-join.aspx?&group=Abra...Many of us have already learned a lot about our Abrams lineage. In somes cases, it was not what we expected!!!
We can use representatives from many different Abrams families. Fayette co, PA, Abrams from NJ in the 1700s, Abrams/Kelso family, Mordecai Abraham , Morgan Abraham, Benajah etc
