A DNA test five years ago from descendents of Henry Sr via sons Gabriel and Thomas came out as a mismatch.

At that time, it was concluded that Thomas was not the direct relative of Henry Sr.

In 2008/2009 another DNA test was given to a third son of Henry Sr. This son was Henry Jr (Sarah Friend, Ruth Tannehill) It was expected to match the Gabriel tester, but in fact it matched the Thomas testers (about a dozen desc of Thomas have done YDNA-37/67 marker tests).

The easiest conclusion is that Thomas and Henry Jr are related, very likely through Henry Sr. While Gabriel is probably related, the test from his descendent did not match.

Keep in mind that the DNA match does not prove that Henry Sr is the father of Thomas. Only that they are related. While its probably a father-son relationship, Henry Sr could also be an uncle or a cousin or a half-brother etc to Thomas.

I am sorry that I have taken so long to post this info, but there was some debate as to the pedigree of the Henry Jr tester. It took some time, but those questions have been resolved.

We would still like additional DNA testers from anyone who believes he descends from Henry Sr of Turkeyfoot PA. Or from some of the Abrams/Abrahams (Morgan, Enoch etc) from Fayette co PA to see if there is a connection.
