Mark, would like to see your gedcom file of the Accola to Werley/Wehle etc info you have. Can't view it online. Will u contact me directly? Will gladly share all info. Also, I have unknown photos that some Accola descendants may be able to identify. Would love to compare pictures and info. Does anyone have data, such as old family or bible records, of Sophia Revis (various spellings), who m. Christian Werly/Vehle and lived Canton, Mo area? She was b in Il and her parents are my huge brick wall.

For those interested, there will be an Accola Family Reunion at noon at Junge Park in Sauk City, Wisconsin on Labor Day, September 5, 2011. It is a potluck.

As many of you have learned, most of our Accola ancestors came to Sauk County, Wisconsin from Switzerland. This will be a great time to meet some of your extended family.

I did some additional research on the Wehrli line that includes Stephen. I found additional records that indicate that Stephen WEHRLI (not Werly) married Louisa KNITTEL (not Knittle). Stephen (1824-1905) and Louisa (1830-1907).

All descendents are as previously listed.

I did find ancestors of Stephen and have linked them to the rest of my family tree. Thanks for the incentive to find the link!

Johannes Wehrli (1797-1851) m. Barbara Accola (1799-?)
They had 8 children, one of which is Stephen Wehrli.

My family records indicate that Wesley Accola is actually John Wesley Accola. Since he is not in my direct family, does that make sense to family members? I hav both John Wesley Accola and Minnie Summerville Accola being born in 1881. No other dates or locations. Katheryne Ann Accola was born 1909 and married Malcolm Pitts b. 1909. I didn't realize that they had a child name Malcolm also.

Good evening. Valentine was the son of Hans Luzi (Luzian) Accola and Barbara Wolf. Hans Luzi and Barbara were my GGG-Grandparents through Valentine's brother Casper (my GG-Grandfather), so Valentine would be my GG-Uncle or something like that. Valentine's line is one of those dead ends that I have been trying to research. I would love to get the photo if you still have it, or at least a digital image. Is the photo still in your posession?

Regards,
Mark Strobel

I have an original Cabinet Card photo of this man taken about 1880, which I would like to get back to family members. Photo was taken in Prairie du Sac (Sauk Co.) WI, and he looks to be about age 25-28 in the photo.

I found Valentine Accola in the 1870, 1880, 1900, 1920 and 1930 censuses for Prairie du Sac, WI, and in 1900, his date of birth is identified as August 1853. Married to Margaretha, born Mar 1854. Her maiden name was Meyer, as his mother in law lived with them in 1900, Barbara Meyer. In the 1870 census, he was still living with his parents Luzian and Barbara Accola, in the same Prairie du Sac, WI.

If Val Accola is in your family, email me at margerice@prodigy.net.

Hello! My great-grandmother was Rose Edna Accola from Dubuque, Iowa. If your family tree includes any Accolas from Iowa, I'd love to compare our trees to see if there is any overlap.

Hi Accola family! I am trying to locate anyone who may share my line of the Accola name. My father is Gerald Accola that lives in East Dubuque Illinois, and his parents were Josias (Joe) or may have even been called Joseph, and he married Martha Schaffert. Their children were: Janet (passed away), Arnold ( do not know if alive now), Herbert (living in Illinois), Stanley ( do not have info. on him), Gerald (my father), and Leonard ( believe he has passed away). I do not have much to go on other than that info. and would like to know if there is anyone who can help me? I would appreciate anyone who can lead me to anything that may help me trace my line. If you e-mail me through Selby8X@aol.com I would love to hear from you. Thank you for your time.

Thanks for your reply about Margaret Holmes Accola. Would you be able to help with a few more details? I have that Margaret _____ Holmes married Edgar ____ Accola, but don't have middle names, or the date/place of their marriage. I have her birth year as 1912, but don't have her birthdate. I believe Margaret had three siblings, Mabel L_______, Marion W.________, and an unamed brother who died at birth. Is this correct?

Since I'm from the "Holmes" side, I'd love to hear any of her stories/info about her parents, Walter Frederick Holmes and Lizzie Lucretia Shearer. They moved to Des Moines at some point, but Margaret, and others in the Holmes family stayed in Story county. I am a descendent of her Uncle John Edward Holmes.

Thanks so much!
My mother, Elsie Accola Stollenwerck, was Wesley Accola's cousin. Wesley lived in Denver and owned a lumber yard. I was a child living in Denver and recall visiting "Uncle Wesley and Aunt Minnie". Their daughter, Katheryne Accola Pitts, was very close to my mother, and she still lives in Denver. Katheryne has one son, Malcolm Pitts, who is still in the Denver area. Katherine also has two daughters whose whereabouts I am uncertain. Katheryne Pitts lives at 605 Alton Way, Apt. D8, Denver, CO 80231. She must be nearly 90 years old.
