Classification: Query
Surnames: Acheson, Condy
I am trying to trace my family history back through Ireland in the late 1700s/early 1800s. I know that a Charles Acheson died in co. Tyrone in the 1830s or 1840s, the husband of a Sarah Condy Acheson who later emigrated to the US (1866). I can find no record of either Acheson inside of Ireland, though Sarah Acheson does appear on US Census records.
Does anyone have any information about these two people, or how to search for them? I am not familiar with burial practices in the 1830s/1840s in northern Ireland. I assume that the family was very poor; would this mean an unmarked grave, or possibly cremation? Is there a record out there if I keep looking, or is it likely that no record remains of their lives in Ireland?
