Death of James T. ACHERMAN.
The Covina, California, Argus, of Auguest 12th contains the following in regard to the death of James T. ACKERMAN, formerly of Hygiene.
The death of Mr. James T. Ackerman, which occurred at his home on Azu?a avenue shortly after 8 o'clock on Monday morning. removes from our midst to his eternal reward, another of those sterling Christian characters whose passing away even at the ripe old age of 78 years leaves a void which cannot again be easily filled in our community.
Mr. Ackerman had been in ill health for a number of months, being a sufferer of Bright's disease but none except his medical adviser and the members of his family expected such a sudden termination of his illness.
The funeral services were conducted from the residence on Tuesday afternoon by Rev. Isaac Jewell, pastor of the Covina Methodist Church, of which denomination he had been almost a life-long member. The remains wwere tenderly laid to rest in the Oakdale cemetery.
The deceased was a native of New York, being born in New York City June 23, 1827. In 1841 he moved to Wisconsin where he was united in marriage to Miss Uphima BROWER, and to this union eight children, six daughters and two sons, survive the deceased, Mrs. BENSON of Sacramento; Mrs. EDISON, Colorado; Mrs. ? HAMLIN my copy ends here.
