My gg greatfather is Bernhardt Ackerman, who immigrated from Hesse, Germany and settled in Whitehall, MI. I have been unable to find out anything about his family. Family members say he met his future wife, Pauline Marquardt, while traveling to America from Germany, but I have been unable to conclusively prove this. I also can find nothing else on any other members of his family-parents or siblings. Can anyone help?
