Ackles from NY to OH to MO to OR to WA
I have been working on the Ackles line for about 8 months now. I have this: William b. 1775-1778 in NY, has 6 other brothers and one sister, Sarah.
William marries Mary A. Long/Cole March 27, 1807 Clermont Co. OH. This man may have married twice because I have this Mary in the Salt Lake files, and then the boards are telling me different. Children are as follows:James b. 1810, Sarah b. 1811, Phillip b. 1812, Elizabeth b. 1815, Mary Ann J b. 1/9/1822, John Cole (stepson mentioned in Will of 1844.) b. 1826, William b. 11/16/1828( I believe this William married a Phebe Hiser?) I got the names of his children out of his Will so I know that they are right.
James b. 1810 in Adams Co. OH. marries August 11, 1831 an Elizabeth Rader who was born 9/15/1810. There children are the following:
George b. 1832, Margaret b. 1834, Mary A. b.1836, Louisa b. 1838, Sarah b. 1839, James b. 6.6.1841, Manerva (Mattie) b. 1844
George and Louisa I. Walker-Ackles with son Neri and Vina, and James both are in the LaGrande, Union Co. Oregon Census of 1880. George is listed as being 36 and Louisa 34 and James as 27 and a farmer/ with no wife listed. However, James married a Tabitha Elizabeth Allega/Street in March 28, 1864. James raises his wife's children by another marriage, Wm. Street, Mary Street and Sarah Street. Together they have: Lyddia, and Stephen D. Ackles. Lyddia was born about 1865 and Stephen is 7/12 at the time of the 1870 Census in Marion Township, Grundy Co. MO. Stephen D. Ackles is my great grandfather, his son Estus Bruce Ackles born November 4, 1902 and died March 25, 1978 in Spokane, Spokane Co. WA. is my grandfather of whom my mother Mary Ann Ackles-Morse is from.
On the death certificate of Stephen D. Ackles he mentions his father as James Ackles and his mother as Palithia (nickname for Tabitha). Stephen was born in 1869 in Marion Township, Grundy Co. MO. He died in 1958 at the King County Hospital of a Heart Attack and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Renton, King Co. WA.
I am having this problem, Can someone connect me to the right Ackles/Eccles line further back than William 1775-1778 in NY? I would be greatful so that I can finish my tree out.
