My gran, Chrissie Kerr nee Ackrill (aged 78 on 18/07/03) and I were recently chatting about her long lost cousins, Annie and Agnes McEwen from Glasgow.
My Gran's father was William Ackrill and he married my great grandmother, Christina/e.
William Ackrill had two sisters, Lizzie and Harriet Ackrill. Harriet married Mr. McEwen and they were Annie and Agnes' parents. Agnes and Annie would be a bit younger then my gran, say about 65-75 (ish).
Agnes McEwen married Charlie Mackay and, at the last point of contact, they were living in Liverpool, NSW, Australia (not far from Sydney). They have 2 sons, 1 of which lives on the Gold Coast. 1 of their sons visited Morocco around about 1976 and became very friendly with my dad, William Kerr.
Annie McEwen married a Victor Vandermotten and they have 2 daughters, 1 of whom lives in Tasmania. Vistor worked for Securicor.
About 25 years ago, my gran, Chris Kerr, received a christmas card from either Lizzie Ackrill or Annie McEwen but never heard anything after that.
Harriet died in the Prince Edward's Hospital (location unknown) - shortly before her death, my gran accompanied by her own mother called her up and had a long chat with her. That was the last contact made with the other members of the Ackrill family.
If anyone has any information about the Ackrill family from Glasgow, Scotland, please get intouch with me. Especially if you ar ein Australia as I am currently over here on holiday and would absolutely love to meet you all!
