Matilda Acoles was probably born in Tennessee about 1818. On 12 Jul 1838, she married John Lenox or Lennox, Jr.,b 1815 and died between 1870 and 1880. They are listed in at least one book as pioneers of Alabama, where they moved in 1848. In the 1860 Federal Census, they were listed as living in Valhermosa Springs, Morgan County, Alabama. They had nine children...one of them being my gg grandmother Sarah A. Lennox who married Wyatt Pendleton Smoot. I have no other information and would like to discover the names of Matilda...I found one source that said they could possibly be Fleming Acoles and Anna ?.
