Grandfather was William Lucas Acor, Father Robert James Acor all from Pittsburgh. I was born in 1942. I may have heard of an Alice. My mother was Betty Acor born about 1916. Maiden name Brown.

Not sure any of this fits but all from Pittsburgh

I beleive that we are connected. My Great Grandmother, Alice Amelia Harris Acor Dunn was your grandma Marion's grandmother, I do beleive.Grandma Dunn's son was James Keating Jr. who would be the Father of your grandmother Marion. Loraine Smith is my second cousin once removed. I would love to hear from you. I would also be a second cousin to your grandmother Marion. I did write her about a year ago to see if she had any family history that she could share, but she never returned my letter.

My mother's father Stephen Acor was a son og Grandma Dunn.

Thanks so much! I am just getting started in this new fun. My Grandmother is Marian, his last born with Grace Augusta. Grandma just doesn't have much to say at all about him. Now I understand. Thanks for giving me a starting point. Grace #3

Laraine - I think we might have a connection. My great grandfather was James K. Acor from Pittsburgh. I, too, like you have been searching for that side of my family. I see from the postings listed, that you have received a message from a Betty R. from Texas. She responded to one of my postings as well and while we are just beginning to interact, there is no doubt that we (Betty & I) are related. Your James Jr.must have been one of the sons of my grear grandfather.

Looking for lost branches of the family.

Dorothy Mary and her brother are the children of George Acor. Have not seen them since the early 1940's in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Also looking for Betty Jean and her brother, children of John and Kathryn Acor. I last saw them in 1948 in Pittsfield Mass. John Acor is my Mother's half-brother.

Their grandfathers, Stephen and Harry Acor were brothers, sons of Alice Amelia.

I would be their cousin, Great Granddaughter of Alice Amelia.

We may have a connection. My Great grandmother, Alice Amelia Harris married a James Acor on Jan. 23, 1873. They had six children, one of whom was named James K. who was born in 1880 I beleive. Contact me to see if we can exchange info.I know She outlived all six of her children. They all died in their 40's.Grandma lived till she was 86.

Looking for James K. Acor, Jr., son of James K. and Amelia (Harris) Acor from Cleveland, OH. James m. Grace Augusta Roeder b. Oct. 1884; children: Leon, Rose, Grayce, and Marian. They lived in Pittsburgh, PA until James (a.k.a. "the bum") left one day and was never heard from again!
