You and I are 3rd cousins! Cecil married Chloe A. Felton, and they are buried at Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort, Ross Co., Ohio. Cecil was the son of James M. Acord, Jr. & Rose Anne Hartley (also at Greenlawn, Frankfort). J.M. Acord Jr. was the son of our Civil War veteran, James Madison Acord, Sr. & his wife Sarah Jane Phillips, who are buried at Caldwell Cemetery not far from Richmondale, Ross Co., Ohio.

My great-grandfather was Joseph G. Acord, son of James M. Acord, Sr. and brother of your gr-grandfather, James M. Acord, Jr. Joseph, his wife Edna O. Overly & some of their children are also buried at Caldwell Cemetery. I have photos of all the gravestones mentioned above.

I have tons of information on this family. This is my mother's family and she kept everything! I started my research using the information in the obituary of James Madison Acord, Sr. and worked my way back in time. Mom had researched most of the younger generations. I have your father in my database but I don't have his children. Perhaps you can help me with some of the younger Acords?

We have much documentation on this family of Pennsylvania Dutch heritage, including our immigrant grandfather who sailed to America in 1731.
