re: The James
Adair who sold land to John
Puckett on the north side of the Enoree River is undoubtedly the same James
Adair who sold land to George and Joseph
Adair on the south side of the Enoree in the same year - 1804 (
Laurens Co. Deed Book J, p. 161). In all three cases he is listed as James
Adair, late of SPARTANBURG.
He is also the same James
Adair (bc1732 ?) who married Miss
Montgomery and moved to
Indiana (hence the term, late of Spartanburg). George and Joseph are two of his sons. George moved to
Gwinnett Co., GA.
