"John Adair was a Scotsman m. 1stly Nancy who was a sister of Mrs. Dorcas Duncan, wife of Young Charles Gordon Duncan who was also a Scotsman". (may or may not be correct).

Person on this Genforum, Kilgore family, has a bible, apparently of Jane Adair down through her son Charles Duncan Adair

Alexander Adair had an Uncle John Adair.

The James Adair who sold land to John Puckett on the north side of the Enoree River is undoubtedly the same James Adair who sold land to George and Joseph Adair on the south side of the Enoree in the same year - 1804 (Laurens Co. Deed Book J, p. 161). In all three cases he is listed as James Adair, late of Spartanburg. He is also the same James Adair who married Margaret Montgomery and moved to Indiana (hence the term, late of Spartanburg). George and Joseph are two of his sons. George moved to Gwinnett Co., GA.

Robin / James Adair of "Robin's Fork" pre 1775

Robin Adair settled as a land speculator in the heart of Chicoria, with his wife, Rebekkah (Montgomery?).
He settled at the head of Duncan's Creek, at a site identified on the Mouzon Map (1775) as "Robin's Fork", which drains into the Enoree River, thence into the Broad-Congaree-Santee.

I wonder where this land is in relation to that land owned by James Adair who m. Margaret Montgomery ?

Robin's fork appears to be in the top left-hand corner of Newberry Coo?).

Can anyone tie in this land with their Adairs please ?
