Classification: Query
Surnames: Adams, Carroll, Smith, Morgan, Stewart, Cantrell
My husband's grandmother was Emma Adams, born 1877 in Walker County, GA. I have her parents as John Quincy Adams and Lucy C. Carroll.

This is what I have on them:
John Quincy Adams - born 1854 in Walker County, GA; died in Texas. Married Lucy in 1873 in Walker Co, GA. I have found him in the 1870 and 1880 census records.

Lucy C Carroll - born 25 Oct 1851 in GA; died 1904 in Hudson, NJ. I have found her in the 1860, 1870 and 1880 census records.

I don't quite know why he would have died in Texas and she in NJ. Leads me to think that something here is not correct.

Their children:
Alice Adams 1874
Oscar Adams 1875
Emma Adams (Smith) 1877
Florence Adams 1879

His parents:
Jeptha Freeman Adams 1820-1890 SC-GA - census 1850, 1860, 1880
Emma Morgan 1822-1891 GA-GA - census 1880; US & International Marriage Index 1560-1900

Her parents:
Jackson Carroll 1819-1870 SC-? (likely GA)
Nancy Stewart 1821-1897 AL-Arkansas

Other than noted, I have no documentation for this information. Does anyone have further information or more solid documentation?

I don't like to move on too far until I am sure of what I already have.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

Rosemary

My husband's lineage: From Jeptha Freeman Adams to John Quincy Adams to Emma Adams (Smith) to Neva Alaska Luster Smith (Hutchins) to Vera Evelyn Hutchins (Cantrell)to my husband William Madison Cantrell, JR.
