The only news I can add is that Landy Adams served with Company B of the 8th Missouri State Militia Cavalry. I believe he was a scout.

The story my mother told was that a mule rolled on him.

My mother believed no one in the family served the South.

I have a lot of information on my husband's ancestor Edwin Milton Adams but the only information I have on his father is that he was named Hiram Adams and moved from Conneticut to New York, (Hierkmer area) before 1826. Have you found any other information?

I would love your mothers detailed list of names.
Good for her. I wish my dad ( Stellas son) had made some notes. By the way, Ancestry has my dad down as James (wrong)
His name was Edward Paul Mashburn. I need to change that but don't know how. Stellas children were Geneva, Wesley,
Pansy, Paul.....Stellas husband died when my dad(Paul) was only 4 years old and she married again after years on a farm and starving out. She was a very proud women and didn't remind me at all of a farm women. She would read the kids school books cover to cover as fast as they brought them home. She was a quiet women and dad said she didn't yell. Stella would tell her daughter Pansy,"Don't be a screaming mother"
Pansy was also a kind and patient mother. My dad wasn't the yelling type either. All the kids were contained come to think of it. I knew them all. My 1st cousin( Jack Payne knew them very well as he lived close by and helped out with.Stella was his grandmother. The Paynes also came with the wagon train and were a big part of Huckaby. Pansy kept Stella when she became old. Pansy was a jewell.
Dad (Paul) said it was a very happy home with lots of laughter and kin getting together. They lived in the Huckaby area and most were kin to each other as they came to Huckaby all together. Who has pictures of the 5 daughters? Delilah and Landy grew up 1 mile apart on the Nianua River.
Will someone please recognize thesse peole and write me.
I have found Huldas child and grandchild. I need the rest of the daughter to check in. We can ge this show on the road. Joy 10wls32@cox.net

I believe George Adams is the adult son of William Adams who farmed land on Poplar Creek in Limestone Co. 1830s and 40. William and family migrated to Hardin Co, TN about 1838 but George stayed in Limestone Co. After William and family migrated onto Conway Co, AR about 1844 and subsequently Ouachita Co, AR about 1848. George Adams joined them by 1850.
I agree George has a daughter the age of Delilah but I know nothing of her. She is not with the family in 1850.
The whole family died in a typhus outbreak in 1860.
I'd like to correspond more. Please contact me at h g a d a m s @ h o t m a i l . c o m.
Thanks
George Adams, Limestone Co. Alabama

I have been researching the history of Delilah Emaline (Milly or Mila)Adams (1827-1880) of Limestone Co., Alabama and Hardin Co., Tenn. for several years. Several trees here on ancestry have listed her father as George Adams. I have found a George Adams in the Census records of 1830-40 and he has a dau of the correct age to be her.
Family Mythology has it that George's wife was of Indian heritage. She married John Pipes in Limestone in 1844. He died during the war and she moved to Hardin Co. Tenn.
Can anyone offer clues, leads or proof that George and Delilah are related? or info about the Indian Connection?
I have a great deal of info on her family and children.
Bob Pipes
www.pipesfamily.com

Doris and Francis Joseph are in the 1930 census in Bozrah, Conn., with the surname Carlen. They are husband and wife in that census. Dorothy is not present even though she should be two or three.
This is the family. There should be an older half-sibling to John. There were also Newton relatives Earle and (wife?) Thelma.

Doris and her husband/boyfriend Francis Joseph Newton had a daughter Dorothy allegedly born about 1927. Dorothy married, and divorced, one Donald Hardy. They had a son John. After the divorce Dorothy left the area and hasn't been heard from since. Her son was young when this occured and never got to know his mother. He was raised by his Aunt. Is this the family you know of? I haven't been able to find Doris, Francis, or Dorothy in any census.

I am looking for any information on a Orvil Alexander Adams. I estimate him to be born between 1900 & 1910. Not sure if they were married or not but lived with Anna May Floyd in Iowa Point Kansas in 1928. They had a child Helen Louise in that yr. Then in 1931 had a child, Bobbie Jo. Not sure of Bobbie's birthplace. Bobbie was placed for adoption at 6 months of age in Pampa Texas. Then they had a still born boy in Pampa, Texas in 1933. Orvil A. was a musician and moved around a lot, leaving his family much of the time. He apparently also had a girl with a mistress during this time. None of the paper work I have tells his date or place of birth. I can not find them in any census. He and Anna split and she remarried.I know is long shot but maybe someone will know of this man.

My husband has the Adams family in his ancestry, and I have quite a bit of sourced and documented info on my tree, here on RootsWeb. Other related Massachusetts families were Boylston, Bartlett, Hall, Brooks, Caswell, Sill, and so forth. All these families were in the Colonies prior to the Revolution. My tree is posted at the following link:
http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&d...
You can use the INDEX function to search for surnames.

Daniel Adams

I came across a Daniel Adams from Rowan County North Carolina who had died in 1803. Not much is known except he had a will and mentioned George Adams and Francis Adams Welch. Could this be the same Daniel Adams who died in 1803 that I'm trying to locate whose son is George Rosil Adams born in Lovettsvile, VA?

I believe Rufus Adams' mother was Prudence Earle Jacques. she married Isaac after her first husband Samuel Jacques died. They were from Pomfret, Ct. Isaac was there too. I descend from Prudence's first marriage son, william (Jacques)Jackway. I believe Rufus had a brother born in Windham, Ct. abt. 1770 named Calvin Adams. Isaac married Prudence in 1769.
Re: George Washington Adams Ms.

Carolyn
Hi! I have been following your work for awhile. Thanks so much for all your information and hard work.
I was wondering if you have any tips on finding George Washington Adams parents? I am stumped.
I am also a decendant of GW Adams thru Derrill Hollis Adams and 2nd wife Sarah Rush; William Henry and Lenora Ann Lee; George Columbus Adams and Ella Geneva Smith. I found Ella's grave recently at Midway Cemetry in Meadville, Ms. She was married 3 times. Her full name would have been Ella Geneva Smith Adams Hill Westbrook, died 1958. She was buried under the name of Ella G Westbrook. She was buried near her daughter (my great aunt) Reba Adams Guice and John Graham Guice. My grandmother was Alma Geneva Adams Reynolds.
Thanks so much for you work!
Anne Adams McNulty Paine
