My name is Peter Spadzinski. I was born in Poland. Our family were refugees who fled to Germany and then emigrated to Canada in 1953. I read with interest your query regarding Veronica Spadzinski. If you are in the least bit interested in speaking to me, don't hesitate to call me at 705 282-1984. I am a retired school teacher and live in Parry Sound Ontario, Canada. I have an older brother who knows a great deal more than me concerning family history. Perhaps I can connect him to you, if there is interest.
Peter

Adamski Vessel Werra 4/15/1890

Through research I'm fairly certain that my great grandfather Franciscek Adamski landed in New York on April 15, 1890 on the vessel Werra from Bremen, initially from Poland. He ultimately settled in Jersey city, New Jersey. I am able to gather other information once in Jersey city but have not been able to locate a passenger list from the voyage. I'm trying to find out if he travelled with anyone else. His wife (Rosalia) did not join him until approx 1 yr later. not sure if this passenger list might have been destroyed??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

John Antonia Adamski

Both were born in Prussia in 1855. They immigrated to the US in 1886 and settled in St Paul Minnesota. They had four children. Rosa was born in Prussia in 1884. Stanley was born in MN Nov 1886. Frances was born in MN Oct 1888. Florence was also born in MN Sept 1890. John died when a wall fell on him and 9 other men in 1891 in St Paul MN. Antonia never remarried. Rosa married John F Rosenthal Nov 1906 divorced him in 1919. She had 3 children, Emily, Emery Irene. She then married Casper Frederick Hughes and had Alice Dorothy. Rosa died in 1942. John Antonia are my great grandparents. Rosa is my grandmother Dorothy is my mother. I don't know anything about Stanley, Frances or Florence. I think Frances married someone with the last name Szmiot. I don't think Florence ever married may have been physically impaired. Stanley may have been Stanislau and also may never have married. He was still living with Antonia when she passed away in 1931. If any of this sounds familiar please e-mail me.

Lisa, here are some of the place names my mother remembered my grandfather talking about, Soleczno, Otoczna, Gozdowo, Sokolowo, and Kaczanowo. These are just south of Wrzesnia and don't show up on a lot of maps. I was able to find them on Mapa Polska and I'm sure that they would be listed on any good map of Poland. My family attended the catholic church of St. Martin's in Kaczanowo. Are any of these names familiar to you, Kwaitkowski or Wozniak?
Leonard

I am writing the history of the Adamski family from Rogalin, Swiatniki and Rogalinek, Poznan, Poland.
Phyllis,

I'm interested to know if you can connect to my Adamski's from Inowroclaw/Posen also....

Paul Adamski married Josephine Kwiatkowski (f. Lawrence, m. Frances Kalinowski, Josephine b. in Przybyslaw, Poland). They had at least one daughter, Rosalie b.Aug ?1880 in Poland. I'm not certain when they emigrated to NY (I think I have hit on a possible emigration date in 1888), but Josephine married my GGrandfather Joseph Szczupak on 1/20/08. Joseph emigrated in April 1907 with his 1st wife and children, so I don't know for certain yet whether they married in the Inowroclaw area (Joseph's family is from Turzany/Parchanie) or in Rochester NY. But it is known that Rosalie came to the US also, she married into the Paprocki/Szczupak side of the family.

Let me know if you can possibly make a connection. Thanks for your time and interest.

Regards,
Maureen Murray Webb
