I am searching for the English roots of one of my ancestors, Thomas Addison. Here is what I know so far:
Born on April 6, 1808 in the town of North Duffield, County of Yorkshire, England. In 1833 he emmigrated to the United States where he lived for a few years in Utica, New York during which time he married Miss Emeline Johnson, daughter of William Johnson. In 1835 they moved to Michigan and in 1837 joined with a group of people and moved to the west side of Michigan, being among the first settlers of Courtland Township, Kent County, Michigan, where I grew up. Their oldest child was Mary L. Addison, from whom I am descendend. Mary was born on January 18, 1837 and died October 15, 1901. They also had a son named Thomas Addison, Jr. but I don't know any vitals on him. Thomas Addison, Sr. died on June 12, 1875. Emeline was born January 18, 1813 and died September 3, 1882.
If you can help me figure out who Thomas' parents/family was in North Duffield, I would be very greatful! Thanks!!
