Ernest L. Ade m. Mabel Eldridge
Mabel, b. 1879 (no bd) in Newbury, Nebraska, married Ernest, son of Joseph and Sophia P. Ade on 8 June 1904 by a Baptist minister in her family home at 1225 Perry St., Davenport, Scott, IA.
Ernest was born 1878 (no bd) in Maquoketa, Cedar, IA and was employed as a bookkeeper by the G. S Johnson Flour Co. in Davenport before moving to Mason City, Cerro Gordo, IA in 1913.
He died 16 Apr 1942 in Mason City of 'myocardial decomp' (cemetery database). Mabel died 6 Aug 1946 of 'cancer' in Mason City. They had no children. Both are buried in Davenport, IA's Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Sec 1 Lot 140.
Mabel was the oldest dtr of Frank W. and Louella A. Allen Eldridge. Frank's sister, Kate Glaspell, a noted author of her time, owned land in Newbury where the Glaspells farmed. Frank and Louella bought land next to Kate and farmed for 2 summers before returning to Davenport.
I'd love to have b-dates for Ernest and Mabel, and info on Joseph and Sophia if they're in your tree. I can provide Ernest & Mabel's gravesite jpgs.
