I wish to enquire about the fourth child of Henry & Iva Mae (ADERS) GELARDEN, Robert. I believe this Robert to be the same Robert who married as his second wife, my dad’s second cousin, Mary Elizabeth DAVIS, b.23 Nov 1910 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

My Robert & Mary had five children born between 1941 & 1954, my third cousins. I have information on their spouses and children. This information was provided to me by Mary Elizabeth’s brother who died just a year ago at age 100. My third cousins for some reason won’t respond directly to my inquiries.

I have put together a GELARDEN family tree using the 1850 thru 1930 census, which starts with Jacob (b.1794) & Elizabeth (b.1802), I have also tried to include information obtained from older message boards, particularly from Kimberly & Linda. All I have so far are my work sheets, the varied last name spelling made them difficult to locate. I have also placed the basic information in my World Family Trees program, the printout presents a five generation descendant printout of mainly male off-spring.

My mother-in-law, Patty Jean Aders Harris, is the daughter of Hiram and Mae Maynard Aders. She had a brother named William and one named Jack. Hiram passed away in 1963 (i think). William died in the mid 1990's. My mother-in-law is curious as to whom Hiram's mother was.

my husband(Clarks) grandmother was Flora Aters Harris,she was married to Saul Lafaytte Harris.He was told that the aters came from cherokee blood line,and the Indian name was Ettrs or Epers.We are trying to find any info on the Indian+Aters connection.Saul and Flora were buried in Walker county Georgia.

My Mother is Mary (Aders) Lamkin from around Richland. Her Mother was Marthy (Jefferson) Aders Married to Riley Aders. Her Brother Cicel Aders Died Last year 90 something. Has two sisters living in perry country. Ronnie Aders living Dale Indiana. His father that just passed on had so much collected on the aders family. I do not know if Ronnie has it or not.

Might any of you have any information regarding a Millie Catherine Aders b. February 22, 1859 in Perry Co. IN?
Her name may have been Nellie, not Millie. My sources don't agree.
She married Thomas McKim on February 26, 1880 in Perry Co. died on June 8, 1918, also in Perry County.
I have recorded Thomas's parents as William H. McKim Nancy Albin.
Thomas Millie (Nellie)'s daughter, Myrtle McKim b. April 3, 1894 was my great-grandmother.

Might anyone have any information regarding Peter E. Aders b. 1773 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania d. January 18, 1838 in Breckinridge County, Kentucky?
He married Catherine Bleaker on January 14, 1802 in Augusta County, Virginia.
Catherine was born in 1780 died in 1836 in Breckinridge County, Kentucky.
I believe they had 8 children.

I too am searching for information on Peter E. Aders. I have traced him back from my grandfather, William Woodrow Ater, b. 1913, died 1980. I have been searching for information on his parents. He did have eight children, 5 of whom had the surname of Aders, 2 of whom had the surname of Ater, and one of whom had the surname of Ader. If you receive any information, would you please post it? My family originated from The Netherlands, where I still have relatives. My parents emigrated to Australia in 1951, and the name Aders may be carried on in this country, as my brother has two sons. They are the only ones in Australia to carry on the name Aders, that I am aware of. My other brother has daughters. It is fascinating to me that there are so many Aders families in America.

Linda, Since you gave me Perry Co. and the date, that is my grandparents, Iva Dixon was her maiden name. This is so fascinating for me. Can you tell me where to go do more searching as all of my relatives are passed now,that could give me any information. Thank you for what you did give me, and they did come to Frankfort IN Clinton Co., with the Oshkosh Co, with all of their children names follow: Coy Aders, Edna, Evelyn and Stanley. I have never heard the Gelarden name but I would like to research it if you don't mind pointing me in the right direction. Hi,

My family tree shows James Aders married Julia Gelarden and one of their children, Norman, married Iva Dixon in Perry Co., Indiana 9/15/12. Julia's brother, Adolph Gelarden, married Louisa Comstock and one of their sons, Henry Gelarden, married my grandmother, Iva Mae Aders, 10/23/1898.
Does any of this coincide with what you have? Apparently the Aders and Gelardens intermarried for years!

Linda, Nice to see your post. I will have to do some checking on the dates, however I don't beleive the Norman you speak of is my Grandfather. I do have some relation here in Frankfort and the last name is Dixon, and her name is I believe Iva. They have passed on now. But if I can come up with some dated perhaps we can change information at that time. The thing which is throwing me off is that my Grandmother's name was Nancy Iva, I was named after her, and that is different than the name you gave, but not by much.
