Looking for family details of Therese Elvina Adler, father John Adler. Therese married Alexander Schapira and they emigrated to Australia. Therese would be born in mid 1800's - not sure which country. It is thought her father and family moved to London as missionaries.

Sophie and Julius were siblings although it appears Sophie was a bit older than Julius. Anyway, I'll fill you in on more details if I hear from you as this message was posted 2 years ago.

Do you happen to know if any of John and Margaretha Pellam Adler's children had a son, John H Adler, born around 1880? My ancestor, Margaret Adler Kiesgen (the twin daughter of John and Margaretha), had a daughter Margaret Kiesgen who supposedly married a cousin, John H Adler. I would be interested to know who John H Adler's father was, however.

As I do not read German, can you indicate what each field asks for? I have the following Adlers in my line

1. Julius Adler married Yelta(Yetta) Bloom in Cook County Illinois on 10 Feb 1880. They are listed in the 1880 US census living with Yetta's parents, Moses and Elenor Bloom. Julius is listed as being from Bavaria. I am not sure what happened to Julius. The information from the 1890 census was destroyed and in 1900, Yetta is listed as Yetta Bloom, single.

2. Moses Bloom married Caroline Adler in East Feliciana, Louisiana on 13 Aug 1852. I have been unable to locate more information on Caroline.

3. Moses Bloom married Helene Adler in East Feliciana, Louisiana on 28 Apr 1586. These are my great great grandparents. Depending on the census year, Helene is listed as Helena, Elenor, Hellen and Henretta. Depending on the census year, she is listed as being from Prussia, Germany, Bavaria. She died in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, US on 18 Jan 1890. She was 67 at the time of her death which gives her estimated year of birth as 1823.

Besides Adler, do you have any Blooms in your list?

Thanking you in advance for your help.

Becky

My Samuel Adler came from Ozierny, and emigrated from there in 1907 or thereabouts. He had daughters Molly, Rose, Anna, Sarah, Bessie and son Max (who eventually moved from Ipswich MA to Albany NY and opened a deli). Any similarities?

I have on my family history a Lewis Gotthainer, who was the son of a Bianca DeRoy, who was the daughter of Sadie Koch or Newark, NJ. Sadie was the daughter of Johanna Aarons and Emanuel DeRoy, both originally of Amsterdam, Holland. Any information you may have would be much appreciated.

Karl Adler was my great-grandfather and Rosmarie is my grandmother, which makes us third cousins, I believe. My great-grandfather died in March of 1994, (I don't remember the exact date) but he was born on October 31, 1903 in Bahlingen and immigrated to New York through Ellis Island in 1921.

Adler and Childs marriage

Under that good omen, the wishbones gracefully fashioned in blossoms, stood Miss Emma Childs and Manny L. Adler last evening as the words were spoken that made them husband and wife. The ceremony took place at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. Childs and a company of three score guests. Many from Kilwaukee and Chicago gathered to show their esteem for the happy couple.
The ceremony was conducted by Rabbi M. Fursch, of Chicago, the impressive service of the Hebrew church being used.
At the close of the ceremonies all present joined in the discussion of a tempting wedding supper. Bride and groom left at midnight for Chicago and the east. Their futer home is to be Columbia, Ohio, where Mr. Adler is engaged in business; but after their visit to the east and before establishing themselves in their new home, they will spend a few days in this city.

Janesville Daily Gazette--Wed., Jan. 2, 1889.
Hi Roger---

Your mention of Albert Adler as your ggggr piqued my interest.

I'm chasing a theory that an Albert Adler, b. abt. 1826 in Saxony, who married an Augusta b. 1836 in Hanover might be connected to my line.

I'm speculating that Augusta's maiden name was Westphal/Wessel, her father was Frederick, and her sister---my big leap here---was Louisa, who married 1) William J. Vanderbosch, 2) Frederick W. Vanderbosch, and lived out her days in Avilla, Noble County, Indiana.

Does any of this tie into your clan? I'm happy to share what I have on Louisa's family, if this is your line.

Thanks for reading.

Bonnie
Chicago
