Jeff, I am so sorry to hear that Uncle Henry passed away! He was a really nice man and he was full of fun! Mom, Elaine and I drove with him to Christine Darsneys' wedding- boy - he was full of ginger on that trip!
If you want to send me the pictures I can try to identify them for you. Henry and Dickie Adrien were supposed to make a video of all the movies-- they did and it has been converted to DVD. Dickie sent me a disc but it's blank! I'll have to call him again. Unless you have the original tape?????

Yes my dad is Henry Rousseau. He passed away two years ago from prostate cancer. He was 89.

I remember Aunt Olive's house as a kid. I still can pisture the house. I don't remember where it was.

My Dad was a avid photographer back in the 30's, 40's and 50's. I have so many pictures and negatives of Adiens and Darsney's that I do not know who they are. I do not know what to do with them. Maybe we could get together if you want them.

Jeff Rousseau

Hi, my dad was Alton Burrill and Edmond was my grandfather, As far as that epic poem is concerded, it was written about the plight of the French Catholics in Nova Scotia. Lamoureauxs were not there. Uncle Louie and the other younger ones loved to say that " we fled the land of Evangeline to get away from the persecution..." My Grandfather told when I was little that it was not so. The family couldn't survive farming and moved to Lynn to work in the big shoe shops. It is a romantic story ( and Louie LOVED to tell a story) but I doubt it's factual. I've been to the memorial in Grand Pre NS and did not see the names there. The puzzle is why the family name changed from Lamoureaux to just the Adrien part. Charles(who we all come from) used the whole name Adrien dit Lamoureaux, lster it ws just Lamoureaux which was correct. Mu grandfather was born in Montreal and his certificate says Lamoureaux. When they got to Lynn MA, they all started using Adrien.
??? new country--new name? By the way , I never found proof that the immigrants became citizens!!!!!!!!
Pepere would sing "Au Canada" and weep-- he didn't respond to USA anthem.
I think I have your Mom's address somewhere I'll look and call her and I can give her my email for you
Ciao, Joanne

Hi Joanne...this is so great! It seems that the Adrien granddaughters are finally meeting...just what the Adrien siblings probably always wanted. My Mom (Norma who is Helen's daughter) is alive, well and still kicking at 80 and lives in Lynn. She was so excited to hear from you. So, I assume that Madeleine is Edmond's daughter? My Mom forgets the name of your father...and who are Madeleine's siblings? Also, did your grandfather ever tell stories of any connection with the Evangeline poem written by Longfellow? Nobody seems to remember it exactly but we all remember some connection that my Nana (Helen) told? Great to hear from you! I have the info from Boivin/Lamoureux lineage - it is awesome! Do you have any of the family history? i have it back to @ 1624 or 1626, when Louie Lamoureaux stsrted the whole thing with his wife, Francoise Boivan. Mom is still living at the age of 93 and we live in Everett WA.Drop me a line and let me know how Norma is doing.
Ciao, Joanne
Sorry... I don't have any of that... France records are not available here... you need to make a query on the appropriate locality board for France and hope someone will accept to do a look up for you... otherwise you will need to hire a researcher in France.

I also verifyed in the Fichier Origine and Isaac's baptism is not there... so I don't even know where that information come from or if it is valid or not.

Good Luck in your search...!!!

Your reply does help. I didn't know if Isaac's parents had migrated with him, and the news that Abraham had died before Issac and Marguerite married was also new to me.

I do wish I could learn more about Abraham and Marie Adrien. Do you know anything about them? Any records in France? Did Isaac have any siblings?

I do have a birth date for Isaac-found in the marriage records in Quebec. He was born Jan. 29, 1604-41 in Yvetot, Rouen, Normandie, France.
Only Isaac migrated to New France as per Jetté and other publications... no parents or siblings came with him.

Abraham, Isaac's father, was already dead by the time Isaac got married to Marguerite Blaise in 1670.

Isaac migrated before 1662-05-01 date of his religious confirmation in Québec... probably during this same year or the year before.

Isaac declared to be 40 yrs old at the census of 1681... making his date of birth around 1640-1641 more or less, since most people did not really knew their exact date of birth includine the year...lol

Hoping this answer your question.
