Hi, My family is based in Sussex and I grew up in Brighton but I cannot find a reference to an Albert yet. The latest I have is the birth of my grandfather Thomas William in Galway Ireland in 1886, his father was Frank Agate a traveller!
Not sure if this will help but I am just starting this search so we can see where we get to

This is the passenger ticket for the family of William Agate, Mary Agate, George Agate, Ellen Agate and Amos Agate showing their passage on the ship Devonshire from London on April 1, 1856. I would love to hear from any descendants of this family.

My maiden name is Agate and am currently trying to search for my Fathers birth details. Edward Percival Agate on death cert states born 2 June 1939 but I can not for the life of me find a record of the birth certificate.

I'm Allan Agate cousin to your father Richard, our last meeting was at Jocks Funeral earlier in the year. I'm just setting out researching my family tree and wife Sandra's. If as you say a tree has been established back to the 15 century, are you able to share it with me, it would save a lot of time.

We have a Sarah Agate in our family tree who was baptised on the date you have given as your Sarah's DOB, but I do not have any further details of her, I just know her place in our tree. She was the youngest sister of my 3 x great grandfather. The family were in the Cowfold/Bolney area.

I may be able to shed some light on your search for information about Kezia. I think she is the daughter of William Agate of Cuckfield who was the younger brother of my 4 x great-grandfather. William was born c1741 and married m Ann Unwin @ Twineham in 1777. I have recently obtained a copy of their Uncle's will where he refers to William as 'William Agate of Cuckfield', although the rest of the family seem to have remained in the Bolney area. Also William had an Aunt whose name was Kezia Agate (born 1717 who married Thomas Buckman of Itchingfield @ Slaugham in 1735. If you are able to verify that this the younger Kezia is your ancestor, I can give you more detail going backwards. Regards Carolyn

looking for any info on the agate's living in crawley, im 3rd generation, i know my grandad moved fom the london/surrey area and had a large family ( mick or michael) and married june (maiden name unknown) mick had many brothers. they had 2 kids steve and debbie (my dad and auntie) any help finding further relatives?

richard matthews 1890 west ham ,siblings queenie,william,florence,harry,betty,edward,annie ,maybe more not sure ,queenie killed by husband, william married victoria ???,florence married george agate,harry married minnie ??? moved to canada ,betty (elizabeth) married ????he was a dentist ,annie married harry allen,edward (ted) was a electrician i know florence& george had 3 children youngest dolly may entertained troops in ww2 with ensa ?? this is all i know

looked at your tree have quite a few similaritys ,im related to a richard matthews 1890 westham had a sister florence who married a george agate ,had 3 children florence,george and dolly may ,any connection

I have in my family tree a Sarah Agates who was born on 28/4/1789. I do not know if she appears in your database, if so I would like more info on her forebears. Sarah died in Sept 1847 and married James Vincent in 1809. James was born in Cowfold in 1786. They had 4 children - William born 1810, James born 1812, Sarah born 1815 and Jesse born 1830.

I have a Sarah Agate in my Family Tree. As far as I know she was born on 28/4/1789 and died in 9/1847. She married a James Vincent in 1809. James Vincent was born in Cowfold.
They had 4 children, William born 1810, James born 1812, Sarah born 1815 and Jesse born 1820.

I can tell you about another John Agate (about 1673 - 1748) who is also buried in Warnham churchyard. I think it is this John who runs into some trouble in 1721 for failing to contribute to the development of a Baptist Meeting House. It is not exactly clear what is going on but it concerns mortgages on 2 premises.

His sister, Mary, married Richard Cragg in 1693 in Slaugham. Mary and John's parents were another John Agate and Ann Marchant. Ann was a particularly strong Baptist. Richard Cragg's sister marries another Agate - Robert in Horsham in Feb 1684 /85.

I would like to connect up all these Agates too.
