Hello Robert, I have information regarding Albert Aggett and Ellen J McMahon. These people are my great great grand parents.

I recently found documents including birth certificates and photographs of Albert and Ellen.

Unfortunately I don't have information on William Aggett & Elizabeth Pye.

George
Marie Duval - death

Bob, the Lorette where Marie Duval died is in Quebec, not France. I have a copy of her death registration which is available in Ancestry under the Drouin Collection of the Quebec Vital and Church Records entered in 1704. In fact all of the Maufay (Mauffet)family records listing Lorette are referring to the Quebec Lorette, not the France one. I have so much information from the Drouin Collection which is the most accurate source of my ancestors in Canada.

Hi Linda,

I was looking at an old deed of sale for my house in Montreal and it says that John Smithers, a merchant, and his wife Susan Elizabeth Aggett purchased the property in 1913, so this seems to match your description. My house was built in 1899 and I have been tried to capture some of its history. Their children are also identified in the deed of sale, including their first child as you mention in your email. If you want more info, you can email me at homardpoilu@gmail.com - obviously not my real name, but I would not post my regular email account on a web site.

Hi Robert,
I guess our Alberts are not the same person as mine was here in 1902 to witness Susan's marriage. It is amazing that there would be two William Aggetts married to two Pye women in Montreal at that time. Not exactly common names. The census definately says Susan was born in Quebec but I just haven't been able to find her birth. My brick wall.
Thanks for replying and good luck with your Albert.
Cheers Linda

Yes, I am that Robert Gagnon. I have been trying to find facts about Albert for awhile. I have him being born in Devon around 1879 to a Thomas Aggett and Mary Ann Stoneman with a sister Elisabeth Jane.

This is the information that I have:
First Time in Montreal Street Directory is 1909-1910 as Glove Cutter, living at 731 Albert St.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Husband of Helen McMahon Born: Montreal, Quebec (24 December 1879) Died: 30 November 1959 Aged: 79 years Late residence: 727-4th Avenue, Verdun, Quebec Place of death: Verdun Protestant Hospital, Verdun, Quebec Remains were buried in Hawthorn-Dale Cemetery, Lot 6 No. 231
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In 1891 Albert aged 12 is an Ag. Lab for Frederick Wooland a farmer, and in 1901 Albert aged 21 was a Carter for Farmer Richard Madge in Okehampton Hamlets
1891 Census
10 Records found

His records are inconclusive as of yet since his parents and sister are all based on assumption from his birth date. I intend to attempt to get his records through British Ancestors. I hope this helps for the moment.

Hi Robert,
My grandmother was Susan Elizabeth Aggett. Her Father was definately William Aggett, it was mentioned in her obituary. There was not a lot of Aggetts in Montreal and I saw a marriage for a William Aggett and Suasan Pye and thought that was her parents but I have never been able to find her birth and am starting to question that. Susie married John Smithers in 1902 and an Albert Aggett was a witness, as her Father was William I am wondering if Albert was a brother. Susie also named her first child Albert Aggett Smithers(1903). I found an Albert Aggett birth in the LDS and a Robert Gagon as submitter and wondered if you were that Robert, and if there could be a connection with my Susan Aggett. Would be interested in hearing from you.
Cheers Linda
