I have heard my dad talk about the running out of France and into Germany, but we traced our name back to La Rochelle France and then to the Alsace Region my dad is James and his dad is Harold who married June.

William Agne, Gooding Idaho 1908

William Agne was reported to be in Gooding, Gooding, Idaho in 1908. It us probably more likley that he was here in 1912. He, his wife, Mary A. and brother George E were from New York.
The sotry is that they bicycled from New York. Interesting if it is true. Williams father was from German or Bavaria. William was born about 1869 and George about 1871. William built a dance pavillion in their yard and had live music to raise money and several years. They had no children and went bandrupt about 1938 and possible left for Boise Idaho. No records was found of their deaths in Idaho. Any help in finding more about these people would be appreciated. We are working on a 100 years history of the area.
You may contact me directly at schcheney@magiclink.com

I was very interested in all of your information on Agne family history. I do not see a relation to mine, but my great grandmother was a Katherine Karoline Agne who married in Belleville, St. Clair Co., Illinois in 1868. Her death certificate listed a Paul Agne and census records said born Bavaria. I was told they were from Lambsborn, Germany, but I was unable to find out any information on the area or the family name. How did you find out about the Huguenots? I am interested if all of the Agnes are related in this area of Germany.

I know that he has many family members in Utica, NY, so I'm wondering if he isn't connected to some of the folks mentioned above. He married Anne UNKNOWN and they lived in Oakland County, MI. Does anyone have Ray in their family line?

Thanx,
Cheryl Agne

Debbie, I don't know if you ever received a response on your search for Jacob Agne. I am new to genealogy and came across your post the other day! In researching my husband's line, there is a Jacob Agne, born 1760, not 1759 as in your message, in Lambsborn, Germany. The Agne's that I am researching also came to Utica, NY at about the same time as yours. Could this be the same Jacob? I don't have marriage or children details on him, but I do have details on his parents and brothers and sisters and even further back than that. Please let me know if you think this might be the same person!
