It's either "Angel Luis" or "Luis Angel" Aguilar. He was also originally from Puerto Rico. According to my mather's family he has five daughters from a previous relationship and lived in Brooklyn, NY. I've never met him.
If anyone has some info that i could use, please let me know! I'd appreciate it!

Thanks!

Josephine and Jesus(?) Aguilar, Aguillard, Aguillar, Aguilard

I am looking for any info on the children and or ancestry of these people, Josephine and Jesus (or maybe Jose?). I have VERY scant info but I'll give you what I've got...They were from Mexico, moved to Texas, possibly @ 1930's. There is a son named Mike (middle name is possibly Manuel)he is probably in his late 50's now, another son who's name I don't know, and a daughter named Guadalupe (she is/was called Lupe). Some of the family moved to south Louisiana. I'm not even totally sure of the way their name was spelled, but I have evidence that it is Aguilar. I'm sorry the info is so pathetic but truly, it's all I have. Thanks for any info.

John J. Aguilar - CA

I am looking for anyone who might have information on my grandfather. His name is John J. Aguilar and his birthdate is DEcember 26 19??. He currently resides in Fresno CA. He married Mercy Borquez(?) and they had 5 children. He was previously married to someone else and had two children, a son and daughter- Thomas and Rosemary. The rest of the children are Josie, John, Susan, Lawrence and Anthony. If anyone has any information on where John Aguilar was born or who his parents were, please contact me. I think my grandpa was born in Fresno but I'm not sure. So much of the family history I've heard changes every time I hear it- the only thing I'm sure of is who he is, where he lives, who his wife is and who his kids are. If you might need a little more info, please contact me and I will ask around my family...I just need something to go on. Thanks!!

Obituary: Brigida Arceo Aguilar

BRIGIDA AGUILAR
October 8, 1914-March 14, 2006

Brigida, sister of Louis, Georgia, Ruth and Daniel, was born on October 8, 1914, in Elephant Butte, New Mexico, to Silvestre and Louisa Arceo. With her son Jose, and her daughter Norma at her side, she fell asleep and awoke in the loving arms of the Lord on Tuesday, March 14, 2006. Brigida was the beloved mother of Miguel, Juan, Alberto, Norma, Daniel, Ruben and Jose, grandmother and great-grandmother. A private service was held. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
Gilbert AGUILAR died 1943 - World War II hero

Are you related to Gilbert AGUILAR? If so, do you know how he and over 1,000 soldiers died during World War II?

Excerpted from The Rohna Survivors Memorial Association website:

http://www.rohna.org/

"On November 26, 1943, during WWII, one thousand, one hundred and thirty eight men perished when the HMT Rohna, was attacked from the air and destroyed in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Algeria. Two important but virtually unknown historical events occurred at that time.

It was the first successful "hit" of a merchant vessel at-sea carrying US troops by a German remote-controlled, rocket-boosted bomb, thus giving birth to the "Missile Age", and it resulted in the greatest loss of troops (1015) at sea in U.S. history. Combined with the loss of ship's crew and officers, and three Red Cross workers, more lives were lost than on the USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor.

The "hit" was so devastating that the U.S. Government placed a veil of secrecy upon it. The events which followed were so shameful that the secrecy continued for decades until recently, when documents were grudgingly released under pressure of the Freedom of Information Act. The government still does not acknowledge this tragedy, thus most families of the casualties still do not know the fate of their loved ones."

See the CASUALTY list from The ROHNA:

http://bellsouthpwp.net/j/f/jfievet/casualty.htm

He was a resident surgeon, and Joan, a nursing student at Holyoke Hospital...... He has knowledge of my birth, but was told a year after I was born I was no longer alive! also , he wrote a note to Joan in 1998, to inform her( 42 years ) later that was signed, from a regrettable ghost..... Joan had passed away a day before it arrived. That card somehow came to my possesion this past year. With this info I must find him, He needs the truth !!!! .If anyone ot there has any info... Please let me know. In Faith

Her father was Arculano (Erculano) Aguilar and her mother was named Teresa. There was a brother named Juan, I think. The story goes that her parents died and my grandmother was raised by an aunt.
Am looking for any information on my grandmother's parents. My grandmother's name was Teodora Aguilar and was born in Laredo (or Nuevo Laredo) around 1906. (My grandmother married Antonio Torres.) Her father was Erculano (?) and her mother was named Teresa. The story we heard was that my grandmother and a brother (Juan, I think) were orphaned at a young age and they were raised by an aunt named Herminia in Texas.

Searching for AGUILAR, SOTELO, REYES, SALCIDO

Can you help me? I am researching my husband's family and am having no luck. His name is Antonio AGUILAR and his parents are Baltazar SOTELO AGUILAR(b 21 April 1914;d 20 April 1979) and Ursula SALCIDO REYES (b 21
October 1914). They were married in Carlsbad, NM (year?).

Tony's paternal grandparents were Ciprano AGUILAR (d January 1939) and Eliser SOTELO (d 6 June 1986). Ciprano's family were said to be horse ranchers in the Grandfalls or Pecos, TX area. Rumor has it that one of his family members lost their ranch in a poker game, although this has not been verified.

My husband's maternal grandparents were Jose REYES (b 23 March 1889; d 8? May 1959) and Elauteria SALCIDO (b April 1896; d 1932?). When she was a teenager, my mother-in-law, Ursula, helped to raise her younger siblings after her mother died. Her father later remarried, but I do not know the second wife's name.

Any information you can provide would be greatly apreciated.
Albuquerque Journal - November 14, 2003

Martin In Loving Memory Martin R. Aguilar January 31, 1949 - November 14, 1993 When the warmth of the sun touches my face, I see your smile and feel your embrace. I hear the whisper of love in the wind And I know that you are close to me again The rain speaks of tears and the thunder of pain, But soon the sun comes the earth to reclaim. As the days come and go and the world moves on, I know you're still here, you'll never be gone. On the morning the Angels came and took your hand, We cried as you left for an unknown land. But Heaven rejoiced as you came into sight, For your soul was a diamond, shining so bright! We love you and miss you dad! Mannie, Berta and Tonio

Is it just me or is finding info on Aguilars virtually impossible? I have been researching for quite a while without any luck. Any tidbit of info would be helpful. Looking for info on Lino Aguilar, rumored to have been an "indian" chief. Info on his son Felipe. I have a picture but no info. And finally, his son, my grandfather, Severiano. I know my grandfather was born in Mexico, probably in Tamulipas. Not much to go on, I know. Thanks in advance.

Delainie

My name is Laura Aguilar. I was born on February 16, 1973 in Montebello, California. I am the offspring of Linda Escobar and Frank or Felix Aguilar. I met him once when I was eleven years old. I do not remember much about that meeting other than feeling confused and interested at the same time. I would be interested in meeting him again and any relatives I may have on the Aguilar side. I do not know any other Aguilar's and I would like to know my ancestry. Last known whereabouts of Frank Aguilar are in Los Angeles, California. I believe his family is from El Paso, Texas. That is all I know.
Any leads would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Looking for Luis (or Angel Luis/Luis Angel???) Aguilar from Santurce (?), P.R.

I was born in 1961. My mom was from San Sebastian, Puerto Rico and her name was Magdalena Cruz. She was 26 years old. I'm not sure what my father's name was. He was also originally from Puerto Rico - maybe Santurce (?). According to my mather's family he has five daughters from a previous relationship and lived in Brooklyn, NY. back in 1961/1962. I've never met him.
If anyone has some info that i could use, please let me know! I'd appreciate it!

Thanks!

AGUILAR-Tucumcari, New Mexico

I'm looking for anything on my great-great grandfather, Cipio Aguilar, or his son, Cresencio Aguilar. They were both born in the Tucumcari-Montoya area of New Mexico, the former probably around 1875. I believe they both worked for the Southern Pacific railroad. (Cresencio definitely did.) Supposedly, Cipio killed a man and left for Mexico, and never returned. Would appreciate any information on Aguilars in that region (San Juan-Quay counties). Thanks.

Looking for my biological father, Eddie Aguilar

Hi- I am hoping that someone can help me, I am looking for my father, Eddie Aguilar. All I know is that he used to live in Tularosa,NM, and was a patron of Mollers Lounge, which is now closed. I think that's where he met my Mom, Kathy Suddreth-Heaton, who is deceased. He was also in the service,I think the Marines, and was an engineer(again, not sure).I was born in San Deigo in 1969, but from what I know, he and my mom met in NM and she went to California alone.
He does know about me, but hasn't seen me since I was about 4 years old when we were passing through Tularosa on our way to the East Coast. If anyone knows about him, I just want to know if he's alive or not and want to let him know that I do know he's my biological father. If anyone can help, please post a message here. Thank You- Angie Heaton-McRae
