Hello to you. Searching for more info on my Ahearn family, as I just discovered that my grandfather haled from Kinsale, in County Cork. He was John J. Ahearn, born September 22, 1894. His parents are known to be Patrick Ahearn & mother, Ellen Donovan, of same area. I've double verified this thru his Church & state of NY marriage records. He is alleged to have had at least two sisters, Patricia, who remained in Ireland, & Julia, who came to US, lived in Boston a time, & married a man of likely Russian descent, never to be heard of again. A brother, Michael, came to US or Canada, but was denied entry & made to return to Ireland. My grandfather took to the sea at about the age of 14, "sailed all the seven seas", he would say, & settled in NYC, where he married Mary P. Kelly in 1922, she being recently immigrated from Abbeyfeale, Co, Limerick. He died in 1949 before I was born. Any help on his parents story, or that of his siblings, etc. would be appreciated beyond measure. Thank you. BP.
