I see that her father's name on her death certificate is Ahlborn.

She was born Mar 1856 in Ohio. Her father is listed as born in Germany, her mother (no name yet) in Switzerland. I don't have a death date, yet. By 1910 she is a widow, last name Day.

Anyone that can help? I still am researching. Next stop, immigration.

I am looking for any information on a Wilhelm Ahlborn born in Germany around 1800, came to NY 1860 with his wife Charlotte and daughter Dorothea. Dorothea was born 1839 Hanover Germany. On the same ship manifest I also found their other daughter Caroline Ahlborn born 1833, already married to Christian Suhr born abt 1823 and their 3 children. They ended up in Canada by 1861 Census. Some of the Ahlborn family then moved to Dayton Ohio. Any information or ideas on how to find marriages in Germany for these 2 couples would be very much appreciated.

Sharon

I have LOTS of info on this family. My husband is Charles Ahlborn b. 1942 and the great-grandson of Caspar Heinrich Ahlborn b. 5/13/1860 in Harmuthsachsen Germany and his wife Anna Katherine Vaupel b. 3/20/1860 also in Harmuthsachsen. Martha Elizabeth Ahlborn "Lizzie" was the 5th child of Heinrich and Katherine. Lizzie was born 3/19/1890. I would be very interested in your picture. Is it of Heinrich, Katherine and around 5 or 6 of their children, outside? Lizzie was the last child born in Germany. The rest of the children were born in Mt. Pleasant, PA. If you would like to contact me...my email is betts11@verizon.net. Betsy Ahlborn

My husband is Charles Ahlborn b. 1942 and is related to your Henry William Ahlborn b. Feb 14, 1882 in Harmuthsachsen Germany. He was the oldest son of Caspar Heinrich Ahlborn and Anna Katherine Vaupel. Henry's brother, William Frederick Ahlborn is my husband's grandfather. Henry died in 1951 and is buried in Mt. Pleasant. My husband and I traveled to Harmuthsachsen Germany a few years ago and was in the church of Harmuthsachsen where all of the Ahlborn christenings and marriages took place. I see that your post was from 2007!! If you are still interested please email me at betts11@verizon.net. I have copies of the old German church records for the births of Caspar Heinrich Ahlborn and Anna Katherine Vaupel. My records show that Henry Willilam and Isobel had 7 children....I don't have Charles Richard Ahlborn. Did he die in infancy?

I have an Ahlborn
marrying into my Dawe family (originally Dauve and is still pronounced as
'daw-va' in Gottingen, also spelt Dave) who originate in Gottingen. Regina
Maria Carolina Ahlborn married Georg Heinrich Fredrick Dawe on 17 October
1841. Regina's parents are Heinrich Christoph Ahlborn and Marie Katharine
Charlotte Spellerberg. Her grandparents are Johann Daniel Ahlborn and
Sophie Maria Caroline Kruger. Are these names familiar to you?

One of Regina and Georg Dawe's children Louis Christopher Frederick Dawe is
my great grandfather. He was born in Gottingen in 1842 and left Gottingen
in 1866 when he joined the merchant vessel 'City of Bangor' as a part of
their crew on their way to Lima in Peru. He jumped ship when it berthed
in South Australia. Many Germans lived in Hahndorf then and still do. He
married a local girl Harriett Hogben and moved to Gawler in South Australia.
His son, my grandfather Alfred Henry August Dawe died in Gawler. My father
Graham Dawe still lives there as does my brother Geoff Dawe and his sons
Craig and Shane Dawe.

Cheers
Janine Hinton (nee Dawe)
I would say yes? All I do know is that when my g-grandfather (Georg Carl Friedrich Ahlborn) left Germany, he left from Celle with his family and his sister-in-law Anna Wubker. He was born in Offensen and his family roots are in the Göttingen area.

I was curious to know what he was doing in Celle? He married a Pauline Wubker... it that where her family is from? Also, I have not been able to determine where their 2nd son (Carl Ahlborn) was bor. Perhaps in Celle?

Hi Stacey,
I'm not sure if our families are connected or not but my husbands Great Grandparents lived in New Alexandria, Westmoreland County. His name was August Ahlborn and he was born in 1880 and died in 1973. He was married to Sophia Baehr. They had 2 children. William and Caroline. They are both deceased. I remember Caroline telling us that she had several Aunts and Uncles in Westmoreland county but I don't have their names. I wish I had been interested in genealogy back then.
I know that both August and Sophia are buried in Montours Cemetery in Alleghany County along with several other Ahlborns. How they are all related I don't know yet.
Ahlborn

"Hersfelder Zeitung" vom 3. Febr. 2007:

Was in Seattle, WA in 1943, then went to Las Vegas (possibly) to become a dancer at the Stardust Hotel. She may have married someone with the last name of HITE in Nevada, or just called herself Vira Mae Hite while a dancer. No other information available. BC vital records refuses to release her birth certificate to her son because he can't prove her death. He believes she died in Nevada about 20 years ago but has no details. He was raised by his father who is now deceased too.

I have a friend with a brother named Henry Ahlborn. He was named after his grandfather, another Henry Ahlborn....I am not sure if there were any other Henry's before that. Most of the info I have is on my friends' siblings, uncles and a bunch of people I'm not sure about yet. I have to talk to his cousin.
