Dear mr.kent,
I am shock to find you here. Awhile back maybe two to four years you sent a letter to my mother and she was not able to reply for one she really doesn't have free time, but that did not mena she ignored it. I on the other hand was thrilled to know there are others of us out there! My name is Tabatha Ahlf. I am the daughter of Kimberly Ahlf, who is the daughter of Harold and Audrey Ahlf. I have a brother name Alexander Ahlf. If my grandma knew I was telling you any thing she would be upset because she thinks its all a joke. I understand her point of view but I see it as a adventure and I'm sure you do too. I really don't know what kind of information you are lookinf for. I am more than happy to help you any way just let me know. I can tell you about all the Ahlfs I know and about them if you like. So don't hestitate and I am looking forward to hearing from you. Good Luck!
Sincerely,
Tabatha Ahlf
P.S. Do you pronounce your last name like OFF? Well I do. just curious.

Dear Jayna,
Hello cousin. I am the daughter of Joel's brother Steven. I am delighted to see your name because I have had no contact with the Ahlf side of the family since my father disapeared from sight in the 1960's. Well that is not exactly true, I met Florence in 1998 shortly before she died. Kind of odd to meet your grandmother for the first time in your thirties!
I'd love to talk to you anytime.
Most fondly,
Anne

I have actually just taken an interest in my Grandfather's family, especially since my Grandmother just passed last November before I was able to get anymore information on her side of the family. I plan on going to see my Grandfather very soon, so maybe I can get more information from him then.

Christa

Robert, I have considerable information on US Ahlfs. Can you give me more details on your family. i.e., your grandfathers name, your father's name. I have records on a large family in Indiana but apparently not yours. Also if you have some idea where and when the missing sisters where born, it could be possible to check census records for that time. That would have thier name during the years they lived with your grandfather.
Please also check my web site at:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ahlf/index.htm
Also please send me your email address so we can correspond directly. Mine is
kjahlf@msn.com
Kent

Ahlfs

Right now I have a problem. My grandfather, born in Northern Germany in 1920, came home after an absence of a couple of years and found his mother had died, and his father was remarried.
Since he didn't "get along with" his stepmother, he left home and came to America. Here, in Southern Indiana, he married and had at least three daughters. One died in infancy, and the other two we lost track of.
You see, he remarried and my father was the youngest of seven children; by the time he was old enough to be curious about the family the two girls were adult. Married and gone from home, we lost track of them.
Is there some way we can trace them? I don't even know their first names.
