Grandfather's birth certificate states he was born in Marquette county in the township of Tilden and lists his father as William Elias Hill, born in Finland in 1888 and his mother as Elizabeth Ahola, born in Michigan in 1892. My Grandfather told me that his father, William Elias Hill died very young in a mining accident in Michigan at National Mine in Ishpeming. My Grandfather was the oldest child of four children... I believe all of his younger siblings are alive. They are Emil Hill, Ellen Hill, and Norman Hill. I believe Emil Hill still resides in the Ishpeming area in Michigan.
