Aills descendant/researcher, Nance Shaw, made a trip to Kentucky this summer and obtained copies of many records regarding the Aills of Lewis County. Amongst other things, she got a copy of an 1813 gift deed from Ann Shackleford to her grandson John Aills. Also, a complete copy of the 1819-1822 lawsuit of Richard Aills, et al vs. John Aills and Samuel Cummings.

Nance provided me with copies of many of the records she obtained, and I transcribed or abstracted what she sent me, including complete transcripts of the Ann Shackleford gift deed and the 1819-1822 lawsuit.

The lawsuit was abstracted and posted online years ago, but that abstract, dated as 1822, was incomplete and left out Zachariah/Zaccheus Aills who was also named in the lawsuit as one of the children of Molly Shackleford and William Aills. The full transcript is most interesting and really tells the whole story.
