I have hit the preverbial brick wall on my Ailes line - the furthest back I can trace with records is Samuel Ailes born November 1777 in Maryland, died January 19, 1834 in Muskingum County, Ohio. He was married to Alice Boyd, she born 1787 in Maryland, she died after the 1850 Census.
I have a copy of Samuel's will. The Boyd's were from Harford County, Maryland, so I assume that's where Samuel Ailes met Alice Boyd.
