Just saw your post. I have the Ailey Tree back to 1752 beginning with Henry Ealy (the original spelling), he was father to Jacob Ailey who was my great, great, great, great Grandfather. I have most of the children and wives throughout the generations. Send me an email at bcso319@hotmail.com if you would like me to send you this info. I still live in Maryville, TN which is just down the road from Jefferson Co.

I can go back as far as Jacob Ailey's Father, Henry Ealy, born in Berks County Pennsylvania in 1752. I have the full Ailey family tree from myself, Randall Ailey of Maryville, TN back to Henry Ealy and all the children and spouses. I will send a copy of the report I have by email.

I know this thread was a while ago but I wanted to check and see if you got in touch with Sandra. She is my dad's cousin and has lots of info on the Ailey's. Let me know if you still need to get in touch with her. I'm just starting out on this journey to find out where I came from.

Re: ABIGAIL AILEY

Bear with me while I let you know what is going on. By the way, I have used ancestry.com and rootsweb for probably 15 years and may go months, and even years, without hearing anything, but the message is out there for someone to find if they are looking. I love these places.

As you can see, this message was written in January 2004. I have spent a lot of time tracing my history and did so up until about the middle of 2004 when my husband got sick. He died August 2005 and I have not been able to do much until the past six months. We were married for 35 years and this took my life away. But anyway, before my husband died I was working on a project having to do with old pictures. I come from a long line of photographers, myself, my mother, my grandmother and her grandmother and aunts and uncles. When my mother died I inherited all of the old family pictures.

I have so very many pictures of so many pictures and I started posting under surnames trying to find family members that might be interested in their family members pictures. I believe that your mother and father might have been friends of my parents or maybe my grandparents. I really can't remember at this point because there were so many.

Let me ask you a few questions to help me figure this out quicker. Was your father in World War II. Did they live in or around the Tyler or Winnsboro, TX area. Did they live in or around the Oklahoma area. My grandfather was from Oklahoma. He was Jesse Patterson married to Ethel Cooper from Tyler, Texas. My father was Kenneth H. Green, Sr married to Jessie Mae Patterson from the Tyler and Winnsboro area. If you could send me a little more information it would help me know where to go to locate these pictures.

As I said, I have not even touched this stuff until here lately and have it sorted and packed away in several differents boxes. I could not tell you at this point if I have maybe just one picture or more than one, but I don't recognize your name as being part of our family tree, and again, as I said, my mother took so many pictures of friends as did my grandmother. I am 57 years old and was born in Tyler, Texas. I grew up in Irving, Texas. Several years after my husband died I finally gave in to my daughter's wishes and moved up here to Tennessee where I live close to her. She and her husband moved to Tennessee about a year after her daddy died.

Sorry to ramble so much, but if you are interested in these pictures and if you can get back to me with some sort of information about where they were from and the questions I asked, I can try to locate these pictures and get back with you.

You have a good day.

I have the entire list of all graves reinterred or impacted by Douglas Lake and will be happy to do lookups. There are some errors in dates but in most cases the cause of death is noted also.
I ordered from them the index cards and reinterment document of those of my family that were moved. It includes cause of death if known, the family member who signed for the reinterment, a description of what remains were in the grave and how they were excavated and relocated and the location of the reinterment.
There were many graves also left in place that had no headstone and no church record and no family member to show who was there.
Thanks Tammy for replying.Do you know what happened to Abigails husband. I haven't found any thing on him after the 1860 Census. They were listed with two boys I think the first initial is C he was 3 the nent was A. N. Alfred Napoleon was 1. He is my husbands grand father. Then in the 1870 census Abigail was listed by herself with three children. Alfred N. 10, Henry 8, and Matisha 6, I don't know what happened to the first Child. Some one emailed me and said he thought he saw a Joseph B. Newman that had been killed in the Civil War. If you have any information you are willing to share please contact me at cbnewman@gate.net I would be glad to share what I have on her family if you want it or don't have it Thanks Betty Newman

I do not have any information on her husband except that they
were married March 15, 1853. You can contact Sandra Ailey Petree
possibly through one of the Ailey's in either Stroud, Oklahoma or
Bristow, Oklahoma. That is where she was raised and alot of her
family is still there. She has traced the Ailey side back to
about 1786. She would probably be a very good source of information.
I'm sorry that I couldn't be of more assistance.
