Frank 'Eddie' Elshire, 94, Wabash passed away with his loving wife of 74 years by his side at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2009 at his home. He was a lifetime resident of Wabash. He was on to Frank and Grace (Fry) Elshire on September 17, 1914.
Frank was a graduate of Wabash High School. He married Geraldine (Anderson) on October 20, 1934, she survives. He was a United States Navy Veteran of WWII, a fireman specialist 1st class. He enjoyed farming in rural Wabash, riding horses at the saddle club and fishing in Michigan.
Along with his wife, Geraldine he is survived by; two sons, Leo Elshire (Rosalie) of Amboy and Thomas Elshire (Sandy) of Wabash; a daughter, Mrs. John (Kristine) Graft of Garrett, IN; nine grandchildren, Denny Elshire (Bev), Tamra Draving (Howard), Marcy Dillon (Dave), Marty Elshire, Tuli Fisher (Danielle), Dylan Graft, Justin Elshire and Veronica Elshire; six great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Service will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992. Officiating the services will be Pastor Guy Provance. Burial at Mississinewa Cemetery in Somerset, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to Wabash/Miami County Home Healthcare and Hospice, 710 N. East Street, Wabash, Indiana 46992.
