Found him in Jersey (channel Isles) in 1861 and 1881. He must have been in East Indies c1847/9 (2 children born there). My distant link to him is via his daughter Johanna who married Joseph Andow.

Hi Kathleen,

I too am a descendant of Sgt Henry Airth, but of his daughter Marion Park Airth (younger sister to your Henry Airth). Marion Park Airth had a son, William Jamieson, who had a son Henry Jamieson, who had a daughter Ivie Mae Jamieson, who had a son Norman Jamieson Grace, who is my father.

I too started researching my line about 6 months ago or so and find geneologists the most helpful people anywhere. I have very little information on your line but would love to include it in my research. I have quite a bit of research on my line if you are wanting to extend your search. I personally am trying to get as far back to the Airth's that actually lived in Airth Castle and am getting there but seem to have hit a road block. Like I said, researchers are the most helpful anywhere and I have gained a lot of information right here on the net.

If you are wanting to share info, please contact me, either here or personally at my email address.

Alexander emigrated to the USA on the ship "City of Rome" on 6 November 1891.

Alexander's parents were ALexander Airth and Ann Orr.

Hope this helps with some leads for you.

Jennifer ~ Alexander & Margaret also had these other children in addition to Alexander 1700:

Christian bapt Dec 25 1690
Elizabeth bapt Feb 16 1693 / died bef 1705
Anna bapt Oct 31 1695
Margaret bapt Mar 17 1698
Bessie bapt Nov 08 1705

All were baptised in South Leith, Midlothian.

Alexander and Margaret would have married abt 1689 so would be born in the 1655 - 1665 range. I have found 2 people that could fit the bill and have added them temporarily to my database, but I have no proof as yet to confirm them either way :-(

Dallas

I haven't found a birthdate or any pointers to where in Scotland he came from.
Hi Sian!

I wonder if this William Airth is the brother of Sgt Henry Airth? Unfortunately I don't have any other information about that William except that he was born about July 1798 in Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland the son of Adam Airth and Elizabeth Gardner and had 3 brothers and 4 sisters (Henry 1786, Adam 1787, Isabel 1789, Jean 1793, Elizabeth 1794, Janet 1796, James 1801 and Isabel 1803). Does any of this match information you have?

Kathleen

Hi Sian,

The only information that I have for a Robert Airth b 1815 is that he was born Nov 19 1851 in Horton Twp, Renfrew County, Ont. and that he died apr 24, 1889 in Renfrew County, Ont. Are his parents David Airth and Margaret McLaren Beauchamp?

Kathleen

Does anyone have a link to Robert Airth b. 1815, married to Isabella McKay? I have only found 2 sons Alexander b.1839 & Andrew b. 1864. As these dates are far apart & because Robert was a soldier, I hope there are some missing children.

What luck that I cked this site today!!! I do wish that this was true, as for being one of the missing sisters, but I do think that these sisters were born appx. 1860 or earlier up to maybe 1870, I'm going on the birthdate of my GrGrandfather. As by the time he immigrated to USA, he was appx. 36 and had two children at that time, after the family arrived in US they had 10 more children, of which 4 died shortly after birth.
Maybe your Grandmother is a child of one of the sisters, do you have any info. on your Grabdmothers parents?? The name Schuler is not familiar in our Airth history. Please let me know if you aquire any other info. and I will do the same.
It was great to get an answer to my message!!!

Hi there- I am just starting my research, and this is one of the first sites I have visited. What luck!! My grandmother was an Airth, I believe from Sterlingshire (though I am not sure). What I know about her right now- She was born in 1899, her maiden name was Airth, her given name was Kathleen and she emigrated to Canada and bore 4 sons, Jim, Frank, Toby (or Tobias maybe) and Ernest. Husband was Jacob Schuler, died young of stomach cancer in or near Edmonton, Alberta in the early to mid 1930's. From your description, sounds like she may be one of the unknown sisters? Hope this helps.

Hi, I also have an Alexander Airth, (dob-1863) being my GreatGrandfather, his father was also Alexander, (dob-????, married Ann Orr) NO middle names, seems to be many Alexanders, w/ no middle names, GGfather, married a Margaret Farley Laing (dob-6/8/1867, father David Laing, mother Catherine Hardy) in Scotland around 1888 or 9, immigrated to USA 6/11/1891 w/ 2 children, Alexander (3rd) and Mary. From birth, baptizm records they lived in and around County of Forfar, Parish of Kinnell near the town of Airth. There were 3 sisters left in Scotland, no names at this time, hearsay has it that one brother immigrated to Austraila anf other was killed in the building of the "Tay Bridge" over the Firth of Tay", Edinburgh. I have been at this for 8 years w/out success, and am at the point of paying for research, as my time is limited. This may help you somewhat, if you have any other info. on your relatives, send it on. Thanx!!

I am a gr-gr-grandson of Elizabeth Airth, sister of Sgt Henry Airth, who emigrated to Canada about 1825, settling in Renfrew County. His sister Elizabeth Airth and her husband James Halliday came out about 1849, also to Renfrew County in Ontario. I have been told by Dallas Manicon that an Airth descendant now in Scotland has contacted her. I would be anxious to learn more.
Bob Campbell
Ottawa Canada

Hi Bob. Have you ever come across Jean Airth who lived in Aberdeen and was born ca.1760? She had a brother named George Airth. That is about all I have to go on. She was the mother of my ancestor John Connon and named the father as Alexander Connon but they were not married at the time of Johns birth in 1781 near Methlick.
Margaret
