My grandfather and great grandfather were named Charles William Ake.They both lived in SE Indiana. Prior to that the Ake line goes back to Delaware. A William Ake served in the Revolutionary War. He's listed alphabetically just before Ethan Allen. But, of course, Ethan Allen, was from Vermont. Some Akes went to Texas. No accounting for taste!

I'm pretty sure,although some might disagree, the Akes came over from East Riding, Yorkshire, England in the 1600-1700 period.
