AKERS, Talford Lee, 88, of Willis, went to be with
the Lord on Monday, August 27, 2001. Survivors
include sons and daughters-in-law, Byron and Cledith
Akers, Shawsville, Dean and Verna Akers, Willis;
sister, Vade Reed, Riner; grandchildren and spouses,
Joyce and Norman Fitzwater, Reggie and Heather
Akers, Mark and Tammy Akers, and Matthew
Akers; great-grandchildren, Nicole Fitzwater, Sarah
Fitzwater, and Jacob Akers. Funeral services will be
at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2001, in the
Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd, with the Rev.
Harvey Carico, the Rev. Eli Yoder, and the Rev.
Richard Kingrea officiating. Burial will be in White
Rock Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6
to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Maberry Funeral Home.
