Searching Jan Romkes Akkerman and Antje Jacobs Roorda Akkerman who came to the US from Ferwerderadeel, Freisland, Netherlands. They came with the following children: Taeaetskke b 1872; Botte b. 1873; Romke b 1876;
Maaike b. 1880; and Nickolas b. October 18, 1881. They also had more children when they got to the US --Annie, Charlie, Jacob, Margaret and Ryan. They settled in NJ sometime after 1881. Does this sound familiar to anyone??
