This message is to my family in Jamaica. The name ACCOMPONG or AKOMPONG means "COME GREAT" My name OPPONG means "GREAT" and in Akan (GHANA laregely and parts of Ivory Coast) we use it to call GOD "AJA NYEM-KOPONG"

So "PONG" is of high esteem. I am an Ashanti from Ghana. My tribe is ASSIN but in central region Cape Coast (FANTE) we have ASSIN family too. So an ASSIN from ASHANTI and ASSIN from FANTE cannot marry regardless of their region of birth or inheritance.

Personally I'm proud of my ancestry in Jamaica. Our features remain our Identity. Our tradition never to be 4gotten and our brotherhood is evident of our nature. We also have ASSIN in Ethiopia. I know this beacuse I am from AGONA ASHANTI and there is AGONA also in Cape Coast and Ethiopia. This is no coincidence.
