Alba's from two sources

There are two sources of the name Alba; one is from Spain and according to the little research I have done, the first time the name is recorded is from the province of Gallicia. The second source is from Italy and Sicily. This source could be from the area of Alba in Piedmont or the ancient Latin areas of Alba Longa. However, an interesting theory; could the Itlaian Alba's be descended from the Spanish family? Spain ruled southern Italy ( The Kingdom of Naples and Sicily ) for nearly 100 years and the name of one of the Spanish generals was Alba. So, a little hanky panky perhaps? My family is from Eastern Sicily and as far back as I can check, they have always been from Sicily or the Itlaian mainland.
