Silverio Albano
GRAND GORGE — Silverio (Sam) Albano, 83, of Grand Gorge, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, in A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital, Oneonta.
He was born Aug. 26, 1915, in Italy, the son of Frank and Anna Albano.
He married Rose Scotti on Feb. 2, 1941, in New York City. She died July 31, 1989.
He served in the Army during World War II. He operated a dairy farm since, January 1960, in Grand Gorge, after moving from the Bronx.
Silverio is survived by two sons, Frank Albano of Stamford and Joseph Albano of Grand Gorge; five grandchildren; and one brother, Salvatore Albano of Italy.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999, at 1 p.m. at the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury, with the Very Rev. Robert H. Purcell officiating.
Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Stamford, in the spring.
Calling hours are Friday, Jan. 15, 1999, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury.
Contributions may be made in memory of Sam Albano to the Grand Gorge Fire Department or Grand Gorge Ambulance Fund.
Funeral arrangements are by the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury.
