I know very little. My father was born in Brooklyn, the youngest of ten children of Salvatore Alberti of Palermo and (I don't know my grandmother's name) of Poland.

Okay, I called my mother and checked. My grandfather was Salvatore Alberti of Palermo, my grandmother was Maria Zakorska of Poland. My parents were both the youngest of their families, meaning that my grandparents were mostly dead before I grew up.

That's great - my grandfather (Alberti) was also from Sicily, from the town of Naso. I have been frustrated in my search for more information about his family in Sicily so it's good to meet another Sicilian Alberti

Wait, wait... I'm Sicilian? You mean, -I- get to say

"NEVER go in against a SICILIAN, when DEATH is on the line!"

That is SO cool...

Well... time for you to go there!

Did you know that if you can trace your Italian heritage through birth records, you can get Italian citizenship and passports?

Here's the Google Map of Palermo http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF8&q=Palermo+PA,+Italy&...

Thanks for the suggestion about travel and passport. Meanwhile, I'm working the info when I can here in the U.S.

Ciao!
