Hi again.

Could the Aliberti's have originally come from Gerona, Spain in the late 1400's???? I have found the name listed many, many times, but spelled Alberti..
Thanks.

Hi Lucille, What we need is to know brothers and sisters of your people in the 'branch' of the surnames that you have. That's what I'm working on, finding the connection to each other. Have you written for any records from Italy? I'm waiting on some responses now. Meanwhile keep my E-address; antonette869@hotmail.com and I will keep yours and if I can find a connection, I'll write to you. I've been saving all the e-mails that I get with any of the surnames that match even if I don't see a connection right away. I'm glad you wrote to me. The surnames that I'm searching for are; Di Filippo, Di Fillipo, De Filippo, Zambrano, Leo, Aliberti, Navarra, and possibly Rinaldi, all from Siano. I also belong to a group called the Circle of Sianese. Only people with ties to Siano are in the group. Put 'Siano' in your search bar and it should come up, if not, write to me. where did your Grandparents live in the USA? Mine lived in Lynn, Mass. and I have cousins all over New York too, as well as other states I'm sure.

Talk to you soon,
Antoinette

Good afternoon.
I don't know any of the siblings of my grandfather Aliberte. Only his parent's names. He had step-siblings because his mother died when he was 5.
Don't know Lucia's siblings either. I think she may have only had one sister who came to America also.
My grandparents lived in Thompson, CT and were married there on August 29, 1909. I have all of that documentation.
They then moved to Forest Ave in Everett, MA. (I grew up in Malden, MA and am very familiar with Lynn).
On my mother's side: her mother was Maria DiFilippo (born in Dedham, MA). Her parents were Agatha Donnarumma (can't find that surname anywhere; born in Siano) and Joseph DiFilippo. They had six children: Theresa, Rose, Louise, Maria, Anna, and Nicholas. They lived on Broadway in Everett, MA. My great-grandfather Joseph sponsored my grandfather's (Francesco Aliberti) to America....Also, my dad's parent's were the witnesses at my mom's parent's wedding!!!!!! It's really all in the family..... Do you know anything about the Botta family from Siano?
Thanks for your patience and help. Oh yes, my mother was born in Siano and lived there for ten years, raised by her grandparents Thomas and Fortuna (Botta) Roscigno....
Have a great evening,
Lucille

Hi, no, I haven't come across the 'Botta' surname yet. I used to live in Everett too, but I'll have to ask my mom what street. In regards to the name, Donnarumma, I would contact Vince, of the "Circle of Sianese" - Vince Stamboni --

E-mail: stamboni@concentric.net
Web Site: http://www.concentric.net/~Stamboni/INDEX.HTM
Fraine Web Page: http://www.concentric.net/~Stamboni/FRAINE.HTM
Siano Web Page: http://www.concentric.net/~Stamboni/Siano.htm

he knows something about that name that might help you there. And check out his web site that he made of Siano. Tell him that I directed you to him. I think that you should write to Italy to get some more info about your family in Siano. Keep me informed. Does your mom know any thing else? Also, you might think of joining the E-mail group of "the Comunes of Italy", with Over 500 members all with connections to Italy, it is very helpful that some of the people are very experienced with Genealogy. The address is

<< http://www.comunesofitaly.org/ >>"

and put all the surnames that your searching for in a Email to the list, You never know what might happen.

Thanks for everything.
I ran across his web site yesterday, I think. It had a great picture of Siano and some good info. I'll have to ask my mom for some more info. I know she has pictures somewhere.

Write at you soon.
