You'll find that most Alberti(s)(y) families descend from two people, most likely brothers but not yet proved to be fact. One, Casimer Barnhart (Bernard) Alberti b. 1740 and Frederick Alberty b. 1741, both in Germany. Bernard went north to upstate NY and Frederick went to No. Carolina where he served four times in the Rev. War. Bernard had one marriage to Catharine Kohl that produced seven children and Frederick married three times, 18 children; the naming patterns of their children are quite similar. Several of Frederick's children ended up on the Trail of Tears, Cherokee, and you'll find a long list of Albertis from his line in Oklahoma. The families have spread far and wide. I do have a Louis D Alberti but he was born in Greene Co., NY. With more info, perhaps I can provide you with additional suggestions. My e-mail is calberti@aol.com
